This specific role of the S&OP Manager is accountable got leading, coaching and managing a team of Demand Planners, Demand Planning Business Partners and Innovation and Brand Change Planning Leads :
The S&OP Manager is accountable for leading and driving a collaborative and efficient monthly Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process.
This role is also responsible for embedding a weekly and monthly S&OP meetings to align a consensus plan with Sales, Marketing and Finance.
Lead the successful delivery of :
Accurate and timely base-line forecasts, managing the S&OP / IBP process accordingly.
Diageo I&BC projects for planning activities to successfully deliver service, cost and inventory targets, manage information flow, stakeholder relationships and creating full visibility of I&BC projects, risks and opportunities across end-to-end supply chain
Implementing and embedding Global S&OP Operating model across all markets driving standardising and efficiency.
This role must understand end-to-end financial implications of demand plans resulting in service to Diageo Customers and inventory performance.
Role should understand importance and impact of innovation on NSV, Working Capital, Profit, and customer relationships.

This role covers Supply Planning activities in support of 4 LAC markets : Mexico, CCA, PEBAC, Colombia

Control the supply of customer product requirements for Diageo with an NSV value of £690M, from over 10M EU Cases, directly impacting COGS £200M and an average of £55M of inventory.

Drive the Demand Planning and S&OP cycle
Lead the generation, alignment, consensus and sign-off of monthly rolling forecasts for all countries.
Partner with markets to ensure strong relationships exist between the local teams and the CoE, establishing a bonding in the ways of working among the teams.
Ensure the S&OP process is aligned to IBP principles.
Embed and facilitate monthly alignment meetings through local Demand Planning Business Partners, with cross-functional partners (Marketing, Supply, Finance and Commercial teams), in order to achieve best in class demand plan accuracy.
Lead the sign-off of monthly forecasts with market leadership teams, including GM.
Attend Demand Reviews in markets.
Ensure systems and processes in place are aligned to global demand planning standards.
Communicate critical forecast changes and supply constraints to stakeholders in the Supply Chain, Sales and Finance teams.
Nurture demand and supply integration and continuously drive alignment to one plan.
Lead the Demand Planning process
Lead and develop the Demand Planning cycle with the Demand Planning Manager.
Ensure the generation of baseline forecasts for all country SKU’s, ensuring a focus on core SKU’s, using the correct demand signals (Sell Out / Sell In), lead times, safety stocks, etc.
and applying prioritisation criteria to maximise the efficiency of the Demand Planners.
Lead the forecasting of Innovation and Brand Change SKU’s, ensuring that new product introduction algorithms are used for profiling demand, and provide statistical inputs to markets for Innovation plans.
Make sure all forecasts are aligned in APO and being used correctly by the markets.
Liaise with in-country Demand Planning Business Partners to ensure meaningful information and data is inputted to the S&OP process.
Collaborate with in-country Demand Planning Business Partners to achieve demand and supply integration, aligning into one plan.
Communicate ongoing forecast changes to stakeholders in the Supply Chain, Sales and Finance teams.
Develop and execute Demand Planning and S&OP initiatives supporting Supply Chain strategy
Understand, implement and sustain global demand planning codification agenda.
Achieve best in class performance through aligning to global codification for PLAN, and engaging with LAC CoE leadership, Planning Excellence and OPEX Process owners for improvement activities
Support the delivery of the market strategy through delivery of broader initiatives and projects.
Embed process improvements across the wider Demand Planning Team.
Lead a high performance Supply Planning and DRP Team
Provide clear direction and prioritisation of workload across the team.
Achieve best in class engagement scores through value survey process.
Coach, mentor and develop Supply Planning team.
Skills and Capabilities
Exceptional knowledge, management and coordination of S&OP process
Exceptional influencing and stakeholder engagement skills.
Ability to challenge senior stakeholders and manage tension in S&OP conversations.
Exceptional communication skills verbal, written and presentation.
Detailed understanding of end to end supply chain operational processes within Diageo e.g. IBP, S&OP, DRP, MPS, inventory, conversion, logistics and customer service.
Numerate with statistical, and analytical skills and attention to detail.
Proficient in MS applications e.g. Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook
Knowledge of Advanced Planning and Analytics software : SAP APO, Oracle Demantra, SAS, Power BI, Tableau, etc.
8 years in Supply Chain planning experience in CPG (Demand Planning, Supply Planning, SMR, Logistics), including significant experience managing S&OP process.
Wider cross-functional experience preferable e.g. Commercial, Finance or Supply.
Significant line management experience required.
Experience with advanced planning software with Demand Planning (SAP APO would be an advantage).
High degree of quantitative and analytical skills.
Degree or equivalent in appropriate supply chain, mathematical, engineering, or business degree.
APICS CPIM / CSCP or equivalent desirable.
