TE Connectivity’s R&D / Product Development Engineering Teams conceive original ideas for new products, introduce them into practice.
They are responsible for product development, and qualification from market definition through production and release; assist in the qualification of suppliers for new products to ensure suppliers deliver quality parts, materials, and services for new or improved manufacturing processes;
conduct feasibility studies, testing on new and modified designs; direct and support detailed design, testing, prototype fabrication and manufacturing ramp.
The R&D / Product Development Engineering Teams provide all required product documentation including, but not limited to, Solid Model, 2D / 3D production drawings, product specifications, and testing requirements.
They create and modify detailed drawings and drafting or conceptual models from layouts, rough sketches or notes and contribute to design modifications to facilitate manufacturing operation or quality of product.
Typical fields of expertise include : materials, mechanics and systems, electrical, optics, chemistry, software, automation systems, packaging, testing and measurement, and manufacturing of electrical, mechanical and electronic components, products, and their integration into systems.
TE Sensors Solutions is seeking a talented Mechanical Design Engineer with experience in designing and developing products for Automotive Tank sensors.
Responsibilities & Qualifications
Perform mechanical design of components, stack-up analysis, materials and assemblies including model and print
generation. Realize the 3D models and the 2D drawings.
The design should fulfil TE / WEMA requirements and customer specific requirements based on automotive standards and TE / Wema design libraries.
Design and drawing review with designer team at sensor manufacture site.
Support DFMEA / LL / TECHS / Quality / Project meetings.
Continuously improving of drawing libraries and standards.
Be an active member of the Mechanical Design team at BRGN ENG. Assist other team members when required and present actively suggestions for design and work flow improvements.
Share knowledge. Participate and share experience and know-how gained thru regional design projects with the global design team.
Support BRGN ENG and the regional Engineering teams in working in accordance with the LEANPDV2, ECR / ECO and PCR work flow procedures.
Plan and control own workload according to defined priorities and time lines.
Collaborate with process development engineering to ease the design process tooling and fixtures based upon
design concepts (DFM)
Execution of light project management tasks, such as ECR / ECO projects
BS in Mechanical Engineering or similar
3-5 Mechanical Design (2D-3D) experience in the Automotive, Aerospace or similar market
Experience with SOLID WORKS, ProEngineering and CATIA V5 is preferred
Knowledge of Development Engineering process w / Gated Phases (APQP), PPAP and FMEA
Experience with quality systems TS 16949, ISO 14001
Experience with design optimization and qualification
