AstraZeneca has a significant SAP estate with multiple regional ERP systems and multiple global systems, such as APO and PI.
The responsibility for running this estate lies with the AZ SAP Team who are part of the AZ IT Software Shared Service function.
The AZ SAP Team is regionally based, in Europe, Asia and the Americas plus teams in the GTC in Chennai and Guadalajara.
The AZ SAP Team members that are co-located regionally with other AZ IT and business teams have a particular responsibility to ensure that SAP in AZ is customer facing from a project and service perspective.
In addition, the co-located team members also lead in ensuring that the knowledge relating to the particular, specific SAP based solutions for AZ is safeguarded and made available to the business.
The PSO / Junior PM is role that will operate in a regional and global capacity. The role holder will be a key member of the Release Management team, managing Change onto the regional ERP and Global SAP systems and also lead smaller projects.
The role holder will play a hands on role on various tools including Solution Manager and TM1.
The role holder will work with colleagues from within the AZSAP Team in Software Shared Services, external partners and other AZ IT teams, in particular Finance and Operations IT who are the major customers of SAP.
The accountabilities are structured to provide a varied role and support the development of the holder.
Support Project Managers as required in developing and maintaining plans, financial trackers etc
Ensure project documentation is kept in the appropriate repository
Ensure project processes are being followed, status trackers are kept up to date and relevant
Own the project from Initiate to Close
Create and maintain Project plans and any required trackers (e.g. financial)
Ensure Project risks and issues are managed appropriate to their potential impact
Ensure project is compliant with all AZ processes including Clarity etc and that appropriate Governance is in place
Ensure delivery of the project to time, cost and quality requirements, escalating issues where appropriate
Ensure contracts are in place for all Supplier delivered work and that value for AZ is achieved
Working with other SAP Release Managers, PMs and Architects, assist in maintaining Release plans for EU and Global systems
Support in running the Release Governance process on a day to day basis
Help to ensure Solution Manager data is kept up to date reflecting decisions made in Release Governance
Project / SAP Team Support
Ensure process is in place and actively update tools such as Estimates and Plans in TM1
Monitor SAP Team compliance with all IT process requirements such as Time Recording
Support the SAP team with meeting and event arrangements, purchasing and other processes as required.
Manage communications within the team and assist in external communications where required.
Candidate Skills and Experience
6+ months in project management or project support, with evidence of meeting delivery, quality, and compliance standards
Proven skills in managing and controlling project budgets
Good communication and relationship skills
Knowledge and experience of working with suppliers
Experience of working in structured frameworks, such as ITIL and Prince 2
Good leadership skills
Knowledge or previous experience of tools, particularly Solution Manager, a plus
Must be able to perform as an effective member in a team-oriented environment, maintain a positive attitude, and achieve desired results while working with limited supervision.
Ability to manage time and priorities to manage multiple projects and stakeholders simultaneously
Able to travel to support project release management work (majority of work is at base location, but must be prepared to travel regionally and occasionally globally as required)
