Description Position Overview : Compañeros En Salud (CES) is a registered non-profit civil association with a mission to provide high quality health care to those who need it most, in collaboration with the public sector.

The organization serves an area of over 25,000 people in the Sierra Madre of Chiapas. CES manages an annual budget of 19M pesos, with support from a range of U.

S. and Mexican foundations. CES is sister organization of Partners In Health, an international non-governmental organization with an annual budget of $150M USD.

As the organization grows, we seek Finance and Administration Manager to lead financial planning and management, build and implement more robust financial systems, and ensure compliance with donor requirements, in close collaboration with CES leadership and PIH Finance colleagues.

This position will further be the lead financial officer for a three-year Fondo Mundial regional grant, serving three countries (Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador) out of the total of eight countries represented in the grant.

  • Responsibilities : Oversee Financial and Grant Management Systems and Processes for CES Lead budgeting and forecasting, including creation of CES annual budget;
  • costing estimates for new program areas

    Consistently analyze financial data and present financial reports in an accurate and timely manner clearly communicate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements monitor progress and changes and keep senior leadership abreast.

    Document, and where necessary create, financial Standard Operating Procedures for the organization

    Maintain a system of internal controls and safeguards including, but not limited to, areas of cash controls, revenues, costs, and program budgets and actual expenditures.

    Serve as primary liaison to accounting firm and manage audit process

    Supervise financial agreements with and control mechanisms for sub-contractors and sub-recipients

    Oversee production of budgets for grant / donor proposals.Strengthen systems of procurement, with focus on largest areas of spending and largest vendors, to promote cost savings and efficiencies

    Overseeing budget of 1M USD annually

    Supervise direct reports Manage Global Fund (Fondo Mundial) Regional Grant Financial tracking and management of program activities in three countries (Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador), including review of financial reports prior to donor submission

    Comply with and create administrative systems that comply with the operating procedures of the Global Fund and PIH

    Support the Mexico / Guatemala / El Salvador Project Manager in budget controls, and ensuring compliance with project commitments

    Train project staff and other actors in each country on administrative and financial processes and standards

    Overseeing budget of 300K USD annually

    Supervise one direct report : Global Fund Administrative Assistant Qualifications : Minimum of Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in accounting or finance from an accredited college or university.

    Certified Public Accounting designation (CPA) / Contador Publico Certificado (CPC), MBA, or equivalent preferred. Minimum 8 years progressively responsible accounting and / or finance experience.

    Minimum 4 years supervisory level experience and demonstrated ability to lead across a range of cultures, personalities, and competencies.

    Demonstrated knowledge of advanced US not-for-profit GAAP, financial reporting, accounting systems and accounting software is required.

    Experience with Microsoft Navision preferred. A demonstrated commitment to recruiting, mentoring, and training a diverse team.

    Experience managing audit activities, financial reporting and analysis, accounts payable and receivable, general ledger, payroll, and cash management.

    Strong interpersonal and communication skills; experience in effectively communicating key data, including presentations to senior management, board or other outside partners.
