Purpose of the Job :

Provide leadership to integrate the development of new and innovative solutions to advanced manufacturing technology. Directs daily activities of equipment / tool design, specification, development, and documentation.

Responsible for providing technical support and training to all manufacturing locations . Works directly with domestic & international manufacturing operations teams to achieve 'best in class' manufacturing cost performance.

Leadinshort- & long-termstrategicplanningactivitiesforadvancedtechnologydevelopmentin support of global manufacturingexpansion.

Supports footprint and Semi automation projects. Position will be based in Juarez, Mexico.

Key Responsibilities (Essential Job Functions) :

Manufacturing Engineering :

Responsible for providing support to overall preparation and continued optimization of manufacturingrequirements.

Responsible for driving improvements in productivity and product flow throughout the manufacturingprocess&materialsupplychain(extrusion,pultrusion,fab&assy,materialflow).

Work in conjunction with divisions to ensure process uniformity & accountability (rates, methods,workpractices)atallmanufacturinglocationsthroughimplementationanduseof existing & new manufacturingprocedures.

Participate in corporate-wide manufacturing capacity planningactivities.

  • Participate with manufacturing operations, advanced manufacturing technology, planning, and purchasing to analyze in-house and supplier capabilities to identify capacity shortfalls and recommend & implement action plans to meet business objectives.
  • Manufacturing 4.0

    Focus manufacturing sites having / evaluating latest smart technologies and machine communication to improve efficiencies and overall equipment utilization OEE

    New Product / Process Development

    Lead the development of new manufacturing process, material and equipment capabilities, new technology and process transfer to global productionsites.

    Supports advanced development initiatives.

    Identify & drive new process technologies in support of NPD initiatives and to improve existing operational manufacturingperformance.

    ParticipateinannualTechnologyRoadmapreviewmeetingwithpartners.Stayuptodateby participating in Technical Trade shows and transferring knowledge into engineering organizationabroad.

    Driveimprovements inproductivitythroughout areasofexistingproductdesignsutilizing

    newtechnologiesthatemergewhereapplicable(extrusion,pultrusion,fabrication, assembly,plastics).

    Capital Investment

    Work with Finance and all plant & corporate functional teams to identify annual Capital expenditurerequirements.


    Responsible for driving an environment where individuals consistently recognize each other's achievementsand that processes are in place across alllocations.

    Understands and follows Quality ManagementSystem

    Experience & Education :

    Design and Development Capability- 10+ years of designing equipment, tooling, and controls for climbing and safetyproducts.

    Cross-functional activities - 1O+ years of working with other functional members to have a good understanding of requirements to do each job (production, scheduling, inventory management, product design & testing, manufacturingprocesses).

    Project Management - 5 to 10 years of managing projects or programs with major focus on cross-functionalapproach.

    InterpersonalSkills-Abilitytoworkwellwithalllevelsoftheorganizationinamatrix environment to drivechange

    Confident - Able to be flexible and open to otherideas but confident in one's abilities to questionothers.

    Strong oral and written communicationskills

    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills (6-sigma formal trainingpreferred)

    Broad business and technicalaptitude


    Minimum 4-year engineering college degree, BSME degree preferred

    Key Competencies :

    Bilingual (Spanish & English)preferred

    Project Management (Microsoft Project)preferred

    Strong (written & spoken) Communications Skills at all levels

    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills (6-sigma formal trainingpreferred)

    People Management Skills (direct andIndirect)

    Broad business and technicalaptitude

    Special Requirements :

    Willingness to travel as required estimated up to 50%.
