Mondelez International is looking for vacancy : Sr Anlst ISC Finance Position Purpose : The role of Senior Analyst supports the Commodity Controlling Manager to prepare a comprehensive overview of the multiple strategies on commodity buying decisions that are to be submitted to Regional Business Leaders (Regional President, Regional CFO, Regional Category & Financial Leads).

This includes the preparation, tracking, review and analysis of commodity strategies and coverage reports due for approval at Global PNOC meetings.

The role acts as a business partner for North America and the Global Commodity Price Risk Management (CPRM) team to track positions against approved strategies and also the Annual Contract (AC), Prior Year (PY), Prior Submissions and Major Forecasts.

The successful individual is also responsible for managing all month-end accounting entries as well as ledger reconciliations related to hedging services (Commodities / Hedging realized & unrealized) for North America.

The role links closely to Taloca on daily margin / premium management for the commodity derivatives. The Senior Analyst must be able to analyze and interpret data to ensure accurate P&L impact and reporting of the financial position of the North America Business Unit.

The individual will also be responsible for managing and maintaining accurate FX exposure forecasts for all currency pairs in place for North America and business partner with the Treasury team to ensure accurate reporting in the dedicated Treasury application tool.

This position offers a unique opportunity to work across the organization to determine the impact of commodities and the associated hedging strategies on raw and packaging costs and their impact on the North American business unit.

On a regular basis, the Sr. Analyst interfaces with members of Hedging Services, Procurement, Global Commodities, Accounting, Treasury and Financial Planning & Reporting.

The Sr. Analyst will have significant involvement with Procurement during the annual contract setting process, will support the Commodity Controlling Manager through the forecasting process and will also work with CPRM to align on strategic pricing and risk management strategies. Main Responsibilities :

  • Monthly Commodity Reviews (PNOC sessions)
  • Preparation of Global and Regional PNOC financials including the financial impact of approved and executed strategies vs.
  • AC, Prior Fcast, PY and Major Fcasts.

  • Provide an overview of covered / protected positions for all commodities in scope.
  • Analyse and validate coverage report submissions with CPRM and ensure accurate reporting
  • PNOC Comments : Provide commentary on commodity related variances for the Actuals vs. AC, Prior Fcast, PY and Major Fcasts
  • F / X in PNOC : Liaise with Treasury to update the FX impacts within the PNOC and be able to understand variances / drivers
  • Ad hoc reports : i.e. preparation of financial impact reports for different scenarios / strategies.
  • Corporate Planning Processes (Annual Contract, Forecast Updates)
  • Commodity Forecasting : Update the commodity forecasting model by using Net Futures reports from Hedging Services to give an insight into the phasing of future hedge gains / losses and corresponding physical offsets
  • Forecast Schedules : Provide necessary data to procurement finance counterparts to support the AC process and update the required schedules FX Hedge Processes
  • F / X Reporting Co-ordinate and prepare the FX exposure forecast for all North America currency pairs on a regular basis.
  • Liaise with Treasury to understand the most appropriate strategies for FX hedge execution and update the Global Treasury Application Tool on a monthly basis (including hedge requests, spot requests etc.)
  • Update the monthly FX actuals report liaise with Corporate Accounting to ensure accurate accounting of FX hedge gains / losses to COGs on a monthly basis Hedging Services Activities
  • Month-end activities for commodity derivatives and be the point of contact for Genpact (prepare ledger entries for realized and unrealized gains / losses for NA)
  • Be the point of call for Taloca follow up questions (relating to monthly / daily mgmt. of margin movements, premiums etc.)
  • Quarterly SEC Reporting & Internal Controls (SOX) : Prepare quarterly Purchase Obligation declarations for Corporate and ensure compliance with internal controls for hedging activities;
  • support with any audit related requests from PWC Business Partnering.

  • Be an active business partner to the NA Business Unit & the Global CPRM team, counsel and support on finance related questions for NA commodities controlling for NA.
  • Qualifications

    Academic Knowledge : Strong communication skills required to work across many different areas of the organizationProficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel Working Knowledge :

  • At least 3 years of financial controlling experience, preferably with Procurement and Supply Chain related processes (Commodity Hedging and Derivatives knowledge desirable)
  • Ability to manage multiple and diverse stakeholders
  • 3+ years of experience in Finance / Accounting with an understanding of basic accounting principles
  • Possess critical thinking skills, quantitative and analytical skills with ability to interpret data and communicate financial impact
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multi-task while managing to specific deadlines
  • Experience with SAP an advantage
  • Project management skills preferable
  • BS in Finance Accounting or Business Administration required, MBA preferred
