Main responsibilities Planning, projection, supervision and administration of fabrication projects for automotive structures welded aluminum, steel and other alloys based on current national or international regulations or standards
Knowledgeable in understanding Welding Specifications (Fusion, Penetration, Throat, Leg, Porosity, etc)
Ability to develop / optimize Welding Parameters ( Voltage, Current, Wire feed, Travel Speed, Work and Travel Angles, Gas Flow) for specific joints with support of the Welding Equipment Supplier.
Define and select welding equipment ( Torch, Nozzle, TCP-Bullseyes, etc)
Assist in tech reviews with Welding Equipment supplier
Assist in weld sequence development to minimize distortion
Set up weld validation procedures (Frequency of cut up, location of cuts, methods)
Set up weld validation lab (Microscope, Saw, polishing equipment, etching compound, measurement methodology)
Develop Weld repair procedures (Reparability, Number of repairs allowed, etc)
Ability to develop TPM Schedules for welding equipment
Ability to develop Spare Parts Lists for welding equipment
Set up Operator Control Records and Work Instructions for welding processes Profile requirements Education Mechatronics eng.
Manufacturing eng. Mechanical and Electrical eng. Languages English (Advanced) Experience 4 years in Welding (automotive industries), Technical skills AWS certify, GD&T certify, Automotive industry standards knowledge Soft skills Leadership
