When you join team Caterpillar as a Manufacturing Project Engineer, you will be expected to provide technical expertise and guidance in development of major manufacturing projects, working with internal / external suppliers to support / improve manufacturing productivity and cost effectiveness.
Job Duties / Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to :
Providing direction and guidance to other manufacturing personnel in a continuous effort to improve manufacturing productivity.
Being actively involved with suppliers to analyze their current or proposed product / process designs to determine feasibility of using existing designs or modifying the designs to improve process and / or product.
Providing leadership in the implementation of integrated technologies within the factory.
Developing individual presentations on all integration projects and preparing and establishing priorities for cost effectiveness.
Performing liaison duties with various functional areas to promote smooth transition of new and revised corporate and plant systems and operations.
Required Qualifications :
High degree of experience and expertise in various or specific
Fields of manufacturing such as welding, heat treat, manufacturing technology,
Good understanding of product design to combine with process design expertise
Analytical ability as well as excellent oral and written communication skills.
College degree in an appropriate engineering or technical discipline combined with a) minimum of 2 years of appropriate manufacturing experience as either a Manufacturing Engineer or b) minimum 2 years experience as a Manufacturing Engineering Supervisor 2 or c) appropriate equivalent external experience (10 to 15 years).
