Job Description

This position is responsible of providing solutions to maintain sustainability of current products and new products through material compliance with corresponding standards and regulations.

Provides support for new product introduction as well. The material compliance engineer works directly with Engineering, Product Management and Customer as well as NPD personnel and is responsible of executing activities such as material compliance reports, product material compliance projects local and multilocation (global) to achieve operational excellence throughout the product portfolio.

Job Responsibilities

  • Coordinate activities that require understanding of materials declaration and procedures to address special requirements such as new environmental initiatives.
  • Define and coordinate tests that can assist in resolving material compliance problems in products.
  • Define and implement test programs for existing products by capturing performance data to be used internally and externally.
  • Develop and interface with technicians to execute quality test procedures and reports.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive set of test procedures and processes that helps evaluate and mitigate compliance risks.
  • Educate and train employees on material compliance regulations and industry practices.
  • Keep and manage key performance indicators such as material declaration for customers, material compliance in PPAPs, etc.
  • Maintain high-energy and commitment during difficult, time-sensitive projects, stage-gate processes, and certification testing.
  • Maintain up-to-date product material certifications with corresponding approval agencies such as UL, CSA, or ANCE as required.
  • Provide engineering department support on certification information sharing, maintaining agency partnerships, agency records and audits for current and new products and actively participating during NPD process.
  • Provide critical material certifications and / or declarations for product development.
  • Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science
  • Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Mechatronics, or Materials Engineering 2 Years of experience
