Function
Perform physical and chemical tests on Flux Medium, Paste and wire samples.Provide support to AIM employees for regulatory requests when necessary and with the R&D laboratory activities.
Tasks and responsibilities
According to development activities for R&D, the technician will among other things, perform :
The preparation / development of flux / paste formulations
All activities related to cross section analysis and polishing
Stencil printing operation and SPI data generation in the applications lab
X-Ray analysis of circuit boards
GHS Labeling of raw materials, in process and finished goods as needed
Maintaining the industrial hygiene and cleanliness of equipment and workplaces
The management of inventory and products necessary for R&D
Data entry for all R&D related activities
Write basic procedures for the lab
Participate in the analysis and root cause of samples as deemed necessary to support commercial needs, field analysis and engineering support
Support Regulatory Affairs officer activities, assisting with SDS management for raw materials and finished goods
Environment-related responsibilities
Follow all verbal and written instructions issued for this position
Sorting and managing waste generated in the R&D department
Reports all anomalies including accidents to the supervisors
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma with industry experience in chemistry or materials science.
College Diploma in Chemistry or equivalent preferred
Responsible, independent, meticulous, organized
Flexible working hours
Experience with basic laboratory equipment. Proven experience with batch processes and instrumental analysis preferred.
Applications lab experience in a Surface Mount Technology industry highly desirable
Bilingual preferred, but not required (Spanish / English or French)
Assets / Skills
Experience with basic laboratory equipment and instruments in a laboratory.
ISO 9001,ISO TS 16949, ISO 17025 is preferred but not required. Ability to write procedures within an IATF 16949 industry highly desired.
Regulatory affairs experience highly desired, but not required.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Power Point, Visio) preferred. Experience with statistical software (Minitab, JMP) highly desired.
