Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Materials Planning Teams are responsible for the plans, schedules, and monitoring of the movement of material through the production cycle.

They determine quantity and order date for materials to meet production or engineering schedules, initiate purchase or production requisitions compliant with supply agreements, and develop the schedule to be used in the production facility based on forecasts and historical analysis.

The Team develops specifications for new contract orders as well as forecasts and plans for labor requirements. They provide timely and accurate input on supplier performance and may be asked to participate in higher level supplier performance reviews with the strategic sourcing team.

They also monitor cost, schedule and scope of assigned subcontracts to assure best quality at best value. What your background should look like :

The Master Production Scheduler is a key tactical position that has on-going responsibility for the accuracy and achievability of the end item production plan.

Within the AD&M organization, the MPS is not only responsible for the integrity of the production plan, but also the go to person for product line identification issues such as capacity, component supply chain inhibitors, lead time reduction opportunities and billing attainment for those product families under his or her area of responsibility.

Under the key responsibilities are :

Maintain monthly finished goods master schedule for all finished goods product lines (GPLs) assigned.

Lead the discussion for their product families at the monthly S&OP Supply Review meetings.

Translate projected forecasts, incoming volume and work scopes into a production plan with a time-phased build scheduled.

Lead weekly CRP (Capacity Requirements Planning) meeting. The MPS will provide required load for future months / quarters and lead the discussion on same.

Create demand forecast for specific SKUs (based on demand strategy) to project requirements of components, labor, and machine capacity.

Team up with Manufacturing and Engineering to ensure changes are applied on time and review Supply Chain readiness for changes.

Responsible for reviewing SAP and system parameters to maintain system up to date and reduce customer satisfaction impact (SS, LT’s, SLT, MRP, etc.)

Analyze demand data to establish proper stock and inventory levels to achieve TE key metrics (Service, Cost, and Inventory Turns).

Responsible of communicating to management as necessary for any capacity issues, lead time changes, customer service performance and changes in inventory.

Assure availability of components in order to achieve production scheduled based on monthly and quarterly TE goals.

Requirements :

Bachelor degree on : Industrial Engineering, Business Management or related field. MBA Desirable.

Excellent knowledge of ERP software systems

APICS certification in production and inventory management is highly desirable

Material planning experience with knowledge of logistics and supply chain

Knowledge of MES software systems is highly desirable

Fluent writing and verbal English skills are required.

Ability to work independently with strong decision-making skills while under limited supervision.
