Agave is the core process to tequila production and a key element for product quality (the main feature of Don Julio) and product cost.
For agave supply, there is the option to source from the spot market or from Don Julio own fields. This definition implies a series of prospective analysis of projected costs and risks as the agave takes around 7 years to harvest.
The own agave supply process involves 3 basic steps :
2) Maintenance and
3) Harvesting. In all of these steps planning is a basic and important activity to optimize the use of resources (People, agricultural equipment, agrochemicals, pieces of land and zones).
PURPOSE OF ROL :
The Planning Coordinator plays a key role, working shoulder to shoulder with the Tequila Supply Development Manager in order to :
Plan the plantation of agave every year, based on prospective estimations and business plans.
Plan the daily and monthly activities of the different teams in order to grow, maintain and harvest the agave.
Develop the tools to understand performance of the entire operation and suggest changes to current practices in order to guarantee tequila quality at a minimum cost.
Be part of the agriculture excellence program, Agrex participating in Tier 2 meetings.
KEY OUTPUTS :
Lead the development and implementation of the agave supply-demand model as well as the monthly activity model in order to produce long and short term agave planning.
Develop insights along the entire agave process in order to drive decisions and manage business risks.
Manage the business performance process of the agave cost.
Lead the AOP process for Don Julio Agavera as well as the monthly R&O process.
Support the Tequila Supply Development Manager at implementing a performance culture within the DJ Agavera Leadership team and establish solid connections and communication with the Central Finance Team.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE :
Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, engineering.
Charismatic and influencer.
Solid stakeholder management, interpersonal skills, managerial skills including effective / straightforward communication and fact-based decision making.
Good knowledge of Excel and Office utilities.
Highly analytical and with expertise in modeling, statistics, cost engineering, planning methodologies and reporting.
Result oriented, self-managed, quick learner, ability to deal with pressure / ambiguity and challenging deadlines.
