Our client is a global leader in their field and is seeking a world-class Sales Director, Latin America based in Mexico.

SUMMARY OF ROLE

The Sales Director in Latin America will be responsible for aggressively growing the company’s leadership in the Residential and Commercial sales channel in all countries in the Latin America region and will develop the overall go-to-market strategies and tactics in this dynamic marketplace by building key relationships with dealers, commercial customers, developers and financiers, as well as architecting opportunities that create a thriving, multi-billion dollar enterprise.

Experience in Mexico, Chile, Brazil and other Latin American markets is critical to success.

Lead and grow the company’s Latin America business.

Develop and execute market strategy, planning and channel management in partnership with Products and Marketing

Develop relationships and identify market making opportunities for the company

Accountability for sales, revenue and direct margin

Establish and execute upon a strong sustainable pipeline and profitable business focused on success in the region. This means direct account management in the beginning in some regions, as well as oversight of existing sales personnel in some regions.

Manage the short term as well as the long term drive sales and deliver on quarterly revenue targets, but ensure we are planning and building for the future.

Collaborate with Product Management, Supply Chain and Procurement to ensure appropriate products are available to optimize customer opportunities and revenue recognition.

Analyze potential markets for the company, identify and analyze new business opportunities to determine which create the most value

Define and implement the best commercial strategy by country :

  • Market Analysis;
  • Channel model recommendation

    Price recommendations

    Develop business plans for priority customers, oversee execution of the business plans

    Leveraging resources inside and outside the company to develop and present customer focused product and service presentations and proposals to win new business

    Influencing policy developments and opportunities to best capitalize on target markets, partners, and strategies

    Education and Experience :

    Renewable energy electric industry

    Renewable Energy sales

    Business Development

    Fluent in English and Spanish (plus Portuguese preferred)

    Skills and Qualifications :

    Business development and sales experience in a multi-country renewable energy organization, including oversight of sales functions

    Thorough understanding of the energy industry competitive landscape

    Experience selling premium products with demonstrated success

    Highly effective communicator able to craft and present excellent written presentations and analyze data to support arguments

    Tenacious problem solver able to accurately assess, solve, implement, and communicate solutions to problems

    Proven ability to adapt to change in a calm and measured manner

    Acting as a thought leader and team player who builds consensus and a shared vision across the company, and wins support to execute the strategy and business objectives

    Demonstrated ability to develop new business relationships quickly and to close business

    Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills

    Excellent interpersonal and time management skills

    Proven people management skills, including career development, mentoring, coaching and all aspects of performance management

    Proven ability to work effectively in a complex, matrixed organization with the ability to achieve results due to superior influencing and partnering skills
