With tremendous market success in our Cloud Applications, especially in ERP Cloud, Higher Ed institutions have expressed unprecedented interest in embarking on a cloud adoption journey with Oracle. Student Systems, a critical functional area to compete in our SaaS footprint for Higher Ed, is a top investment priority for Oracle.

This role is for a Technical Writer / Business Analyst is to develop operational documentation for Student Cloud products, while working closely with both internal teams (e.g., product strategy, product management, development, UX, marketing, internal sales reps, consultants, development etc.) and external audiences (e.g., customers, industry analysts, system integrators/partners, etc.)

Responsibilities include:

  • Develop operational documentation, including suggested operating procedures, best practices, white papers, knowledge transfer articles, and FAQs.
  • Create and incorporate multiple formats in developed content, including animations, graphs, illustrations, or photographs to increase users’ understanding of and engagement with the material.
  • Select appropriate delivery medium for message and audience.
  • Work with both internal teams and customers to understand product, usage, and, best practices.
  • Actively participate in continuous improvement by contributing suggested practices, lessons learned, etc.
  • Develop an understanding of organization and operational processes, standards & methodologies across multiple customers of incongruent types and business models.
  • Understand client business and technical requirements for deploying a process/system, including target environment and performance criteria; executes technical approaches on projects and effectively identify, manage, and escalate risks.
  • Execute new operations plans, policies, procedures, and transition/migration plans to a high level that are consistent with the overall department goals and objectives.
  • Handles difficult personnel situations directly, using appropriate discretion and human resource input.

  • Detailed Description and Job Requirements

    Work as part of a team that acts as the central resource and driving force for the design, process, manufacturing, test, quality and marketing of product(s) as they move from conception to distribution. Organize interdepartmental activities ensuring completion of the project/product on schedule and within budget.

    As a member of the product development division, you will define product specifications and or strategy. Gather and analyze information to define product specifications and review design specifications. Communicate product strategy and functionality. Initiate and foster relationships with other groups. Review product documentation and collateral. Ensure successful product releases based on corporate priorities.

    Duties and tasks are standard with some variation; displays understanding of roles, processes and procedures. Performs moderately complex problem solving with assistance and guidance in understanding and applying company policies and processes. BS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 1 year of software engineering or related experience.
