Resident Engineering is responsible for maintaining or improving original quality, design, and performance of mature products.
Thru daily interaction with manufacturing and quality departments they remediate component quality related issues that could jeopardize production.
In addition Resident Engineering is required to keep all technical documentation current. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide on-site development engineering support.
Conduct technical investigations and determine the need for design changes.
Recommend and qualify solutions to issues and provide engineering documentation as needed.
Approval authority for all proposed material substitutions.
Generate and lead specific projects in support of warranty, reliability, total cost and quality improvement objectives.
Participate in the disposition of deviant materials and components. Disposition First Piece Inspection discrepancies for mature products.
Drive manufacturing and supplier use of and adherence to REA process.
Lead the warranty reduction process.
Support new product delivery with engineering documentation, testing evaluation and root cause analysis.
REQUIREMENTS E d uc a t i o n R e q uir e d :
BS or equivalent in Engineering discipline.
3-5 years experience in design of high volume electromechanical systems.
4-7 years experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
Bilingual in Spanish and English, required (80% minimum)
Work Experience Required :
Well rounded in advanced engineering concepts, problem solving skills and data analysis.
A self-starting, results oriented individual who works well in a team environment and commits to tough decisions when required.
Must be well organized, able to handle multiple projects and priorities and be adept at information gathering and technical decision making in a fast paced manufacturing environment.
Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills with ability to generate and present professional presentations.
Knowledge of CATIA V5, Windchill and SAP, required.
Working knowledge and application of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing.
Proficiency using Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office program
