Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :
Bachelor degree on mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, mechatronic engineering or industrial design.
5 or more years of experience on mechanical design.
Capable of coaching others to accomplish assignments.
5 years of CATIA and / or NX experience is required.
Effective written and oral communication skills in English and Spanish.
Knowledge of Data Management Systems like : (TcPLM), PRISMA, ENOVIA, KVS, etc.
Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (ASME Y14.5M, or applicable) relative to the function.
Knowledge of plastic components, and plastic injection molding
Knowledgeable in the design, development and engineering processes of automotive Interior Trim systems such as : interior hard and soft trim components.
Primary duties and responsibilities :
Work with customers, suppliers, and internal departments such as sales, program management, purchasing, and quality, throughout the development phase of the program including modifications, upgrades and maintenance of the product or product line.
Ensure application of corporate technical best practices and complexity strategies for each commodity.
Create CAD models and drawings using company sponsored CAD systems. Check, validate, and issue master models and drawings.
Work within the guidelines of applicable YFAI policies and procedures, engineering standards.
Core Tools (FMEA, MSA, PPAP, SPC).
Understanding of design change documentation, requirements and execution of the changes.
Problem solving experience (QRQC, 8D's, 5 Why s)
Define dimensional constraints and geometric tolerances required for proper clearances and fits while maximizing manufacturing capabilities.
Provide Technical Support to cross functional teams to improve or resolve form and fit of components.
Effectively communicates and provides recommendations to internal and external YFAI customers through the analysis, preparation and presentation of technical data.
Provide technical guidance to other personnel and assigned teams; mentor others in the organization.
Direct the release and maintenance of end-item and sub-assembly drawings and bills of material (BOMs).
Contribute to business process improvement activities.
Lead resolution of technical issues.
Support the DR in new innovation and implementation of component strategies.
Support the DR in developing & maintaining System and Component level functional objectives, DFMEA's, DVP&R's, performance standards, and process standards.
