Are you the new customer-focused Field Service Expert and Team Player for Valmet’s Automation Business line?
Valmet is where talented professionals from a wide variety of backgrounds come together to serve the customer. We're looking for a professional to join our team and serve as a Valmet field service expert supporting the Valmet Automation systems at multiple mill sites.
There will be an emphasis on Valmet DCS, with additional opportunities to work with QCS, profilers and automated Web Inspection Systems.
Prior knowledge of these products is not a requirement for this position.
As a field service expert, you will be an active part of a regional and national team, participating in team based solutions and training exercises.
For the mill sites you support, you will be providing activity reports to the site team as requested by them. You may also be called upon to present performance results to the mill and Valmet personnel that document and demonstrate value to the customer based on your services at site.
The location of this position is Mexico and could potentially include work over the whole North America. A Valid passport is a requirement.
CRM skills development will be a part of your professional development. Our field service experts interact confidently and comfortably through a positive customer relationship management attitude with a wide range of customer site personnel ranging from operators and maintenance personnel to upper mill management.

Continued professional development is important to Valmet. You will be expected to continually study and learn the customers’ processes and how Valmet’s automation systems at the site interact and improve the customers process.
Generally, you can expect to self-manage your day-to-day schedule with minimal supervision. You will be asked to provide remote site support by answering questions over the telephone or remotely connecting to customer sites after normal work hours, or on a weekend occasionally.
There will be times when you will be asked to go to a customer site after hours or on weekends to resolve an issue.
Basic Requirements :
A strong grasp of written and spoken English is a requirement as Valmet’s official business language is English. Qualified candidates will have a bachelor’s degree in an Engineering or Technical discipline.
An Associate’s degree in similar disciplines or individuals with a related combination of practical experience will also be considered.
Recent college graduates, as well as experienced individuals, are encouraged to apply. Applicants must have a valid driver’s license and passport.
Occasional travel to other locations in North America is possible. A Valid Passport is required.
