The Electrical Design (ED) Engineer will demonstrate technical excellence in developing, adapting and improving components and features of our existing products and its technology applications to meet and exceed our customer expectations.
The ED Engineer also aid Engineering, R&D and other factory functions in order to ensure functional reliability of the electrical configuration of our products.
In this role you will work within defined parameters, regulations and quality standards to make decisions, apply concepts to issues of moderate complexity, and resolve issues through immediate action or short-term planning.
Your responsibilities
Promote sharing appropriate engineering information through open dialogue with other functions in factory and abroad
Execute assigned orders to ensure a high degree of accuracy and on time delivery of engineering drawings, control diagrams and Wiring routing documentation.
Manage workload to provide quick turn around on revise and resubmit requests.
Define and Create parts and assemblies BOMs for the assigned projects and / or tasks consistent with engineering policies.

Configure and manage BOMs and its technical specifications to comply with technical, customer, regulatory and engineering requirements.
Suggest design optimization concepts to increase business profitability
Design electrical control circuitry under manufacturability, fabrication and functional compliance
Respond to factory floor requests with a high sense of urgency by meeting with production team on factory floor, driving technical solutions, generating updated drawings and / or bill of materials, etc.
Lead investigation of technical problems and the establishment of procedures and corrective actions to avoid recurrences.
Complete on a timely basis all data entry including labor vouchering, required job milestone dates
Contribute to lessons learned by capturing mistakes and communicating to responsible parties to drive continuous improvement
Promote with peers to improve quality and on time delivery of commitments
Plan, execute, and report on the technical design, schedule, and project status of modification assignments.
Demonstrate conformance to Product Technical Specifications and international standards
Create and maintain technical documentation for design modifications and present material for technical review including but not limited to tolerance loops, manual and computer analyses, test results, drawings, BOMs, product cost, problem and action lists, risk management.
Support manufacturing implementation of products through Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA)
Execute design using CAD systems (E-Plan, AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical...) for design documentation
Cultivates a network of design professionals - within and outside one’s business unit. Engages in conferences pertaining to engineering design tools and processes, shares best practices across different projects and disciplines.
Acts as the functional liaison between project team disciplines
Creates standard processes and tools to promote the reuse of technical solutions, innovation and productivity in the design team.
Develops and / or recommends quality improvements to engineering processes and tools. Lead the creation of engineering documentation, standards and best practices and promote its implementation.
Perform other local tasks as required
Your background
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Mechanical-Electrical, Electrical, or any Engineering degree related to design control boards or electrical distribution products.
6+ year of experience on professional product design related areas including electrical & control design for electrical motor control parts.
Knowledge on common Industrial Control and Electrical Components for Metal Clad and Metal enclosed boards to be acquainted with any low or medium voltage products like : Panelboards, Switchboards, Busway, Power Transformers, Motor Control Centers, Switchgears, Motor Starters or Industrial Control cabinets.
Demonstrated experience in Electrical Control components and systems
Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve engineering problems.
Previous knowledge of Electrical Motors control
Understanding of BOM in SAP
Previous experience on regulatory compliance (e.g. UL, NEC, NOM, IEC, etc.)
Desirable certification on any CAD software.
Strong oral and written communication skills in English and Spanish
