Position : Mixed Signal IC Design Engineer - Power Discrete Devices (Reynosa, MX)
Position Summary :
Based in our Reynosa, Tamaulipas location, the ideal candidate will be a proven engineering professional in the field of analog and mixed signal design with passion to grow a business focused on wireless and portable power and power management applications.
The candidate should have demonstrated experience in driving analog design innovation and best practices across their organization.
Sophisticated analysis of complex systems using hand and computer tools; IC transistor level analog design; digital design;
IC CAD tools; layout supervision; analysis and design of signal routing and grounding systems. Should be creative and inventive and able to create innovative solutions to sophisticated design challenges.
Ability to work well with internal cross functional teams. Must successfully and appropriately interface with external customers.
Responsible for specification, architecture, design and development of integrated circuits from initial concept through C-
sample approval and production ramp up.
Design including considerations for yield, manufacturability, testability, and definition of production test requirements.
Performs detailed design, simulation, verification and validation of integrated circuits.
Generates relevant documentation.
Ability to manage assigned tasks with minimal supervision.
Additional duties as assigned.
Required Skills / Qualifications :
Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
7 or more years of experience in Analog / Mixed Signal design or a related role
Must have theoretical background and practical experience in mixed-signal IC design
Competency in the analysis, transistor level design and system implementation of at least several basic analog functions including amplifiers, LDO's, charge pumps, Buck / Boost regulators, etc.
Must be capable of hand (i.e. pen and paper) analysis as well as working knowledge and familiarity with simulation tools (i.
e. SPICE, Spectre, etc.).
Ability to budget time, manage schedule and complete complex IC design tasks on time
Desired Skills / Qualifications :
System level understanding and analysis and the ability to translate requirements to an IC spec level
IC system partitioning and signal chain analysis, architectural tradeoff analysis
Block level topology selection, hand analysis, and IC transistor level implementation
Schematic generation and simulation on modern CAD tools (Cadence tool set)
Deep understanding of semiconductor IC processing, semiconductor packaging, and production test solutions
Solid understanding and familiarity with advanced IC CAD tools including top-down methodologies (i.e.Verilog, VerilogA)
Proficiency with common scripting languages such as Perl, Python, C++, and Matlab
Worst case identification, top level simulation, Monte Carlo analysis, and simulation data analysis
Physical layout management, signal grounding and routing tradeoffs, die area optimization
Post layout parasitic extraction and simulation, verification of all IC performance metrics
Top level verification, block level modeling, top level simulation
