Develop strong relationships with VW that build a foundation to enable Adient to meet customer needs, creating healthy conflict when necessary.
Develop long-term cross-functional customer relationships within VW (Local Engineering, Program, Purchasing) required to resolve / negotiate on-going commercial issues and to support new business quotes.
Ensure overall customer satisfaction via responsiveness, problem solving, etc
Partner with SDT leadership / peers to ensure successful integration of Adient’s products into OEM’s development vehicles, with the ultimate goal of winning incremental profitable new business.
Align with and influence customer directions, anticipate customer reactions, and plan future strategy and tactics; translate strategy into practical steps for execution by sales team.
Ensure profitability of programs meeting Adient financial objectives.
Remove roadblocks, coach, and provide clear direction and escalates issues as necessary. Ultimately responsible for the negotiation and the resolution of all commercial issues with the customer.
Works through and with PM and SDT to direction consistent improvement in commercial elements using Adient standard business practices.
Coordinates and supports cross commodity team work with complete seat / foam and trim.
Responsible with engineering for VA / VE ideation, customer scorecards and events in order to meet customer targets.
Education & Qualification Requirements :
Four year college degree in Engineering, Business, or Finance; MBA preferred
Minimum of 10 years’ diverse experience in Automotive, preferably including Sales, Commercial Finance. Experience with VW or German OEMs strongly preferred
Minimum 5 year’s management experience
Fluent in German and / or Spanish
Preference to any VW or German OEM background
Proven success with customer relationships and meeting commercial and financial metrics
Proven experience with customer negotiations, working within SDT
Strong financial skillset and solid understanding of financial metrics, business cases, etc.
Strong leader with excellent organizational skills who develops creative strategies for profitable growth
Business Plan support or development experience
Strong knowledge of seating or metals structures products preferred
