We are seeking a Senior Manager, Mexico Public Policy to help lead public policy activities and support Amazon’s policy priorities in Mexico.
This position will report to the Director, Mexico Public Policy, and will be based in Mexico City.
The Senior Manager will be a highly visible position that will collaborate with the Director to develop and execute on government affairs advocacy objectives and political priorities.
The Senior Manager will help create, execute, and manage key strategies on an array of issues, including privacy, tax, and digital services, among others.
The Senior Manager will represent Amazon and advocate before government officials, communicate with external consultants and trade associations, and represent the company at external conferences and meetings.
The Senior Manager will work collaboratively and transparently with the Americas Public Policy teams and relevant business units to ensure alignment between business priorities and public policy goals.
The Senior Manager will assess and communicate potential government activities back to the business and the public policy team, develop mitigation or enhancement strategies and positions, and manage and coordinate external advocacy efforts, outreach programs, and key initiatives in concert with business objectives.
Educational Requirements :
Bachelor’s degree required; Juris Doctor or Master’s preferred.
Basic Qualifications :
At least 8-10 years of public policy experience in a major corporation, the government, and / or a lobbying firm in Mexico is required.
Experience working in or with a US or European-based multinational company is preferred, as is additional experience within the Mexican government.
Candidates will be able to demonstrate their understanding of policymaking, including the mechanics of legislative and administrative policymaking process and procedures, effective lobbying techniques, and experience collaborating with other companies and trade groups.
Prior experience with steep learning curves, and the ability to effectively communicate complex information to a wide variety of audiences.

Provide timely and incisive research on policy developments critical to our Mexican and Latin American customers.
Ensure policymaker awareness of Amazon in Mexico and throughout Latin America. Effect change and drive policymaking that benefits our customers.
Manage and coordinate external advocacy efforts, outreach programs, and initiatives in concert with business objectives.
Manage appropriate corporate membership opportunities in industry associations and ensure appropriate deployment of outside consultants.
