The Maintenance Tech 1 provides technical support to equipment, machinery, tools, furniture, modular office and facilities equipment in a basic technology level and / or to equipment with a low impact or non-critical level according to the requirements in each location.
Has the responsibility to perform basic preventive maintenance activities such as cleaning procedures, lubrication, parts replacement, setups, change overs, visual inspections, functionality tests, safety inspections and other basic activities.
Also performs corrective maintenance activities including repairs and basic troubleshooting to provide the proper conditions to the internal costumers to accomplish their activities.
The Maintenance Tech 1 also has the responsibility to provide support during special projects that includes but are not limited to machinery or equipment installation, improvement projects, layout modifications, refurbish projects and any other project or work requested to the maintenance area by the clients required to achieve their goals focused on the key results.
The person in this position needs must be in constant communication with the supervisor to be sure that the activities performed reach the standards required and that guarantees the customer satisfaction.
The activities performed by the Maintenance Tech 1 are focused on customer satisfaction, considering costs and resources optimization, reaching quality standards required in accordance with Panduit’s policies and priorities.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES :
Preventive Maintenance Activities (40%)
Responsible to perform the Preventive Maintenance activities assigned by the supervisor according to the Preventive Maintenance Program to equipment in a basic technology level and / or to equipment with a low impact or non-criticality level according to the requirements in each location.
Provides feedback to the supervisor about issues or problems detected during the Preventive Maintenance activities and that requires to be solved to guarantee the optimum service level.
Identify and recommends any activity required to include or discard in order to improve the Preventive Maintenance Program.
Corrective Maintenance Activities (30%)
Diagnose and repairs the functionality problems reported by the customers in order to provide the best work conditions.
Provides feedback to the supervisor about issues or problems detected during the Corrective Maintenance activities and that requires to be solved to guarantee the optimum service level.
Looks for help with the supervisor or with a more experienced co-worker when the cause of the problem is not clear or the problems shows up again after a recent diagnosis and repair process.
Maintenance work request (20%)
Performs works requested to the maintenance area.
Contacts to the requester to get all the information of work needed and work together to provide the support required by the customer to guarantee the customer satisfaction.
Keep tracking of the materials, spare parts, chemicals or others required to perform the work requested to guarantee the best delivery time to the customers.
Special projects (10%)
Provides support during special projects that includes but are not limited to machinery or equipment installation, improvement projects, layout modifications, refurbish projects and any other project or work requested to the maintenance area.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE :
Required Degree : Highschool Diploma (or local country equivalent education).
Panduit recognized technical certificate / degree or successful completion of Panduit’s development educational program.
Preferred Degree : Highschool Diploma
Certificate(s) : Technical certificate / degree or Panduit’s development educational program certificate.
Experience : One (1) to two (2) years relevant experience
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITY :
Customer service oriented.
Basic computers skills in word processing, spreadsheet, email and internet.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Effectively communicates technical information and project status in writing and verbally.
Ability to analyze problems to find root cause solutions.
Attention to detail.
Ability to use electrical test instruments.
Ability to use hand and power tools.
Ability to use Hand Pallet, Lift Truck, Boom & Scissor Lift.
Lifting : Lifting of up to 50 lb., up to 4 hours per day.
Walking, bending, stooping, carrying tools or parts, climb stairs, ladders or scaffolds throughout the day.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS : Some domestic and international travel
