This position is responsible for the planning and organizing of cost accounting activities.This position does include supervisory responsibility of cost accounting specialists.
Specific responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to : · Supervision of cost accounting team including; set goals for team performance;
organize workflow to ensure employees understand duties / tasks; monitor employee productivity; provide constructive feedback and coaching· Oversight of all SLA and preprocessor errors that are assigned to the costing team.
Oversight of adding new costs and troubleshooting daily cost issues.· Oversight of the mid month and end of month accounting pushes.
Oversight of batch close process and batch close variances· Work with Costing partners to complete quarterly and annual recost process.
Retain appropriate records as outlined in the Records Retention Manual· Ensuring all controls are followed per the Controller’s Manual, ICSP, etc.
Other projects and tasks as assignedSupervises a team of direct reports usually at one location. Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field with 6 years of related experience.

Highly effective organizational, supervisory and communication skills are essential as well as knowledge of PPG accounting systems.
