The essential functions of this position
A new lending process has been established in CCB Mexico (Banca Empresarial) that implies a broader scope in responsibility and accountability for CLU Credit Officers.
Principal functions :
CLU SR Credit Officer responsibility is to execute CCB s lending processes, according to policies and strategy, with the ultimate objective of a best-
in-class lending experience for CCB s Clients within our target markets. Also to :
Support managed assets growth.
Ask for appropriate returns for risk and capital.
Approval of credit.
Early warning identification.
Partner with Sales Team in Customer meetings related to Lending and Monitoring Due Diligence.
Principal functions :
Conduct an objective and thorough credit analysis of the financial condition and credit-worthiness of existing and new to bank borrowers using analysis of historical and projected financial statements, biographical data, market information, credit reports and other data;
Identifies key transactional risks & mitigants.
Ensure efficient credit process execution and fast turnaround times.
Support Sales team in terms of credit risk assessment and transaction structuring.
Execution in terms of "follow ups" and additional credit requirements set by Credit Approvers and timely submission of credit packages and related documents to Credit Approvers.
Coordinate and co-operate with Sales and Independent Risk Management.
Provide guidance to Sales team and become a point of reference for teams on interpretation, application and compliance to Global Commercial Credit Policies.
Maintain strong focus on turnaround time (TAT) to improve Client experience and minimize adverse selection.
Encourage a risk differentiated approach to achieve efficient underwriting and lower TAT.
Participates in Post Loan Approval Reviews and Management Control Assessments.
Partner with Independent Risk and Business (Sales) in Internal Audit and FCR reviews
In Business Credit Authority
Ensures a complete, well documented, accurate and balanced assessment of risk in credit approvals.
Understand company s financial aptitude and risk appetite / tolerance.
Ensures that proposed transactions and extensions of credit are consistent with Client relationship profile.
Ensures clear communication among the Sales, Risk Management and the Client.
Ensure a complete, accurate and balanced assessment of the company.
Commit to constantly monitor obligors.
Review and approve appropriate extension of credit performance, including timely and appropriate classification of facilities.
Partner with Business Sponsoring Officers and Relationship Managers in customer meetings, engaging Clients’ senior managers, as well as with external advisors and consultants.
Work with Independent Risk to monitor external environment or any potential emerging risks which may have an impact on individual or overall credit portfolio.
Identify any early warning signals to trigger appropriate credit classification as per internal and regulatory requirements.
Partner with Independent Risk.
Provide assistance from CLM for the preparation of any ad hoc reports, information requests etc. from Relationship Managers and Independent Risk.
Bachelor’s Degree (preferably, but not mandatory, in Accounting, Finance, Economic, Business) or Engineering. Desirable Master Degree
Credit Roles (financial institutions) 6+years (preferably)
Bussiness Credit Authority 1 year (preferably)
General knowledge :
1. Sales functions and Business Processes (preferably).
2. Systems and CCB structure and Strategy (preferably).
3. Knowledge of intermediate accounting and its practical application in the credit underwriting process (preferably).
4. Strong work ethic, ability to handle high volume and work under pressure, as well as, decision taking attitude and ability to lead meetings with Clients and ask pertinent questions.
Experience in Excel and Office Management. (Advanced database management).
English - Advanced (preferably)
