The National Instruments Engineering Leadership Program (ELP) recruits the Best & Brightest graduate Engineers and puts them in a continuous learning environment.

New ELP Engineers will develop their skills through several training programs, including National Instruments products and related technologies, our business strategies and systems, public speaking and instructor skills.

ELP allows you to grow and develop the necessary abilities to pursue a future role as a Technical Consultant. Our "Work hard & Play hard" philosophy fosters the type of engineering innovation that leads to our many award-winning products.

Be part of the Applications Engineering Team where you will develop your engineering skills, learning about NI's products and how they meet our customer's needs.

You will work with mentors who will provide valuable coaching to improve your technical expertise, consulting & problem solving skills.

The Engineering Leadership Program is projected to last 2 and a half years after which you will become part of the select group of ELP graduates.

During these two years you will work cooperatively with multiple departments at NI, including Technical Consulting and Marketing.

This broad exposure to different areas of the company during the ELP training period widens your understanding of other departments in the company and trains you with the tools necessary to succeed as one of our Best & Brightest Engineers.

Work on challenging projects, such as developing a Proof-of-Concept to achieve Customer Success or On-Site Advance Supports to drive a Customer project with NI Tools, will prepare you for future growth opportunities as a Technical Consultant (Field Sales Engineer) who works hand in hand with customers to solve the greatest engineering challenges of our time.

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science, with preferred majors in Electronic, Telecommunications & Mechatronics Engineering.
  • Minimum cumulative GPA (overall) 80 / 100.
  • Strong customer service attitude, work ethic and drive to succeed.
  • Solid understanding of electronics, computers, and high-level programming languages (C, C++, etc.)
  • Passion for learning and working with instrumentation & automation technologies.
  • Ability to take initiative and accountability on tasks and projects
  • Persistently drive tasks and projects to completion even when facing difficult situations.
  • Problem-solving competency.
  • Energetic, enthusiastic, positive outlook
  • Listen attentively and able to grasp fast-paced technical conversations
  • Strong interpersonal skills and work effectively in a group development environment
  • Leadership qualities gaining respect of others, having an entrepreneurial spirit, seen as a leader by others
  • Availability for moderate travel
  • English Language (Clear Strengh Competency)
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Comfortable presenting to groups using projection system
