Job Summary

Provides post-sales technical expertise during the installation, implementation and maintenance of company products, servicing, training, troubleshooting, and upgrades for customers.

As a Project Application Engineer you are responsible for the coordination and management of the system implementation stage within a project.

Is accountable for developing technical competence, understanding of Invensys's products and their applications, and professional (customer-

facing) capabilities. May provide follow-up support to company sales staff and customer personnel by disseminating technical information on specific applications.

Key Responsibilities

Performs installation, startup and commissioning of Invensys products.

May perform preventive and remedial maintenance on DCS systems.

Provide customers with installation and start up assistance.

Provide operational training on Invensys systems and products.

Prepares site reports detailing product failure trends and service reliability issues.

Develops routine upgrade plans and may lead upgrade projects.

Discusses instrument and system maintenance agreement details with customers to ensure understanding.

Consults with the customer and provides solutions for service or productivity issues.

Provides on-demand, baseline level customer training, as needed.

Identifies "out of scope" situations that require re-contracting or additional resources to meet customer needs, deliverables, and deadlines and works with the Project Manager or Service leader to address them.

Attends site surveys and provides reports to Sales that enable accurate service or project quotes.

Therefore, a good knowledge of application, configuration and commissioning of software structure and hardware specification is essential.
