An international real estate company is looking for a Corporate controller in Mexico City to report directly to the Corporate Finance Director.
Leading the quarterly / annual audit process. Managing monthly general ledger closing process and reviewing balance sheet reconciliations.
Monthly / quarterly management reporting and board reporting. Providing day-to-day technical guidance to the finance staff.
Managing, coaching and mentoring a team of 6 to 7 senior finance team staff. Direct / indirect tax review VAT returns and income tax calculations.
Driving process improvements and efficiency (time / cost) projects. Profile. Expertise in technical accounting and solid knowledge of IFRS.
Experience in evaluating business transactions and structuring accounting solutions tailored to specific asset purchase / sale transactions.
Good knowledge of consolidation and joint venture accounting. People management and leadership skills especially driving a highly motivated team.
Analytic skills or experience in variance analysis (vs budget or vs another period etc). Eye for detail and strong review skills.
Problem solving approach to ad-hoc situations. Ability to manage stress working against tight deadlines. Excellent MS office (excel, power point) skills.
Experience working on a Big 4 as a internal audit. Excellent communication skills in ENGLISH / SPANISH both written and verbal.
