JOBSUMMARY : Supervisethe accurate and timely recording, summarization, preparation and reporting ofthe financial activities of assigned staff within the Accounting area.
Provide both technical and administrative responsibility for a team of salariedand management staff. Prepare recommendations for changes in policies andprocedures to correct accounting related problems and processes.
Initiateand implement changes needed to accounting systems, processes, policies, andprocedures. Review, guide, and train lower level staff.
PRINCIPALDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Under broad direction,performs a wide variety of intricate and complex accounting duties. Duties and responsibilities will be focusedprimarily toward project related activities (i.
e. installing / converting new accounting systems,work with complex accounting issues) requiring the use of in-depth accountingknowledge, practices and principles as well as ingenuity and originality.
Significant latitude for unreviewed actionsand decisions are within the scope of authority.
Analyzes financial reportsand records, and may make studies or recommendations relative to the accountingof reserves, assets and expenditures.
Supervises monthly closingand consolidation, and account reconciliation activities.
May review and verify theaccuracy of journal entries and accounting classifications assigned to variousrecords.
When inconsistencies orproblems occur which are outside delegated authority, they are brought to theattention of management.
Recommendationsare made to management regarding the proper means by which to resolve theseissues.
May make recommendations forchanges in policies and procedures to correct accounting related problems andprocesses.
Applies a broad knowledge ofadvanced accounting methods and procedures.
May coordinate and reviewlower-level accounting work assignments for accuracy and completeness.
May participate inaccounting system development, determining specifications, testing andimplementation.
May lead a project as a teamleader.
Participates inaccomplishment of continuous improvement objectives for the department. Progress toward accomplishment of these ismeasured through maintenance of necessary measurements and analysis ofassociated data.
Participates in theidentification of problem areas and development of resolutions to address them.

Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting,
A minimum of 8 years of exempt accountingexperience
Must have a broad understanding of accountingand business processes and systems, and a working knowledge of the financialaccounting activities of a multinational company.
