The RN will complete initial nursing assessments for Waiver program consumers. The RN will assist during psychiatric clinic to take vitals and act as liaison for individuals receiving services through the community Mental Health Grant.
The RN will be responsible for completing PASRR Evaluations for individuals residing in Nursing Facilities. This position will also provide services within a wide range of activities in accordance with the evidentiary requirements of the Waiver programs.
The RN provides Skill Professional Medical knowledge (SPMP) for required Medicaid related activities of the agency. The RN reports to the Community Support Director.
MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS : Licensed as a registered nurse in the State of Texas with at least one-year work experience as a registered nurse in a health agency, hospital or health care facility.
Work experience can be substituted with experience working with IDD individuals.OR, a bachelor?s degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
Skilled Professional Medical knowledge (SPMP) licensure, education and training is required for Medicaid related activities.
PREFERRED JOB QUALIFICATIONS : Experience working with people with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities.Bi-lingual.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES : Knowledge of health care laws and regulations.Knowledge of medical diagnosis, procedures and accepted medical treatment programs.
Ability to provide patient care and prepare and maintain records.Ability to interpret health and nursing care.Ability to work as part of a team.
Skill in interviewing and ability to communicate effectively both written and verbally.Ability to assess treatment of clients, interprets program methods and procedures, and provides guidance to other staff.
Good organizational skills to plan, develop, and implement programs and recommendations for consumers and their families / support systems.
Good computer skills.Ability to coordinate, plan, and develop programs and provide services to families.Ability to work under conditions requiring physical stamina and ability to work in a stressful environment.
