  • Provides leadership and guidance for the Roehm organization in Mexico helping it to meet business objectives.
  • Ensures consistent application of administrative, HR, financial, accounting and legal processes across all business units in alignment with the US and global organizations and taking into account any relevant or unique requirements of Mexico.
  • The incumbent will interface with all levels and functions of the company and will be expected to demonstrate professionalism and confidentiality at all times in performing the required duties of the position.
  • Legal representative for all Roehm legal entities operating in Mexico.
  • Represent senior leadership in important interactions with local authorities, trade organizations, key customer accounts and key suppliers.
  • Ensure compliance with local laws and regulations. Monitor changes in local laws and regulations and ensure compliance with those laws and regulations in an efficient and timely manner.
  • Ensure all regulatory requirements and certifications required for the import and sale of relevant hazardous and non-hazardous chemicals are maintained and up to date.
  • Ensure local employees follow the Code of Conduct and complete all mandatory training including safety training.
  • Approve supply, service, and sales contracts in alignment with the regional functional and business heads and the President of Region Americas.
  • Alignment of the regional business, controlling and supply chain processes with the processes in the US to ensure consistent results and effective reporting.
  • Provide local coaching, leadership, and disciplinary oversight for all Roehm employees, within the context of the regional matrix organization and aligned with the regional BU and functional heads.
  • Host Roehm visitors from outside Mexico making any necessary arrangements to ensure their safety.
  • Provide guidance on the local culture and how to adopt business practices for greater effectiveness.
  • Responsible for negotiating contracts with external vendors for sourcing and recruiting candidates, while ensuring hiring managers adhere to appropriate recruiting processes.
  • Develop the necessary connections, processes, and procedures to ensure an effective and efficient transition to a stand-alone company utilizing a BPO model.
  • Provide local management and direction for the BPO, performing financial and HR activities.
  • Actively coordinate the BPO activities with the regional requirements and personnel.
  • Monitor the performance of the BPO against the service agreement ensuring that reporting requirements and deadlines are met.
  • Provide updates to Roehm America functional managers on the BPO’s adherence to the services agreement and advise on any areas for concern.
  • Ensure the BPO has the necessary IT equipment, software and access to the Roehm ERP systems.
  • Serve as the local representative and signatory for the Roehm Mexican entities in banking matters.
  • Analyze data, organize information, and prepare reports / documents, as required by the regional organization.
  • Develop and manage relationships with site host and service providers as the key contact for office and facilities management.
  • Manage and implement company car policy contracts.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally, up to 25%.
  • Other duties, as assigned.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting, engineering, or related field is required.
  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of ten years of experience in a position with relevant commercial or administration responsibilities, including five years international experience.
  • Fluency in Spanish and English required.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, as well as, the ability to follow through and complete tasks with little supervision.
  • Must be self-motivated and work independently with a sense of urgency.
  • Proficiency in collaboration and delegation of duties.
  • Ability to solve problems quickly.
  • Must treat confidential information in an appropriate manner.
  • Must be trustworthy.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft applications, i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint.
