Job Purpose :

Reporting to the OGC Preventive Targeted Reviews Lead Reviewer Manager, the Preventive Targeted Reviews Sr. Analyst will support reviewing, designing, implementing and monitoring the key controls and the strategies to drive increased effectiveness, quality assurance and early escalation on different targeted products or processes within an area under review

The position involves an active and strong-close coordination of the reviews to ensure an efficient and valuable review is performed, including the following :

  • Compliance with established methodology,
  • Close interaction with key stakeholders
  • Proactive and clear communication, especially to inform about and document identified risks or issues,
  • Follow up to the information / meetings requested to perform the walk through needed
  • The candidate must possess knowledge of reviews based on key Transactional Products and Services and its associated risks and controls, as well as knowledge of the respective supporting operations.

    Job Background / context :

    The Office of Governance & Control is a function within the first line of defense, reporting directly to the CEO of Grupo Financiero Banamex (GFB).

    It is responsible for strengthening the control environment across the entire franchise and to build a more effective Governance Structure and Operating Model.

    Within the corporate control framework, Preventive Reviews are a quick mechanism of control assessment and remediation.They are intended to address control issues quickly after they emerge as well as emerging risks.

    Some of these reviews will be highly focused on assessing the different risks (as defined on Risk Appetite Framework) for some products offered by Citibanamex.

    As part of these reviews, recommendations are issued and corrective actions plans are developed and executed

    Key responsibilities :

  • Support the PTR Manager in the execution of reviews, following a defined review plan and based on an established work plan, through executing assessments and validations of key controls and strategies to drive increased effectiveness, quality assurance and early escalation.
  • Assist the PTR Manager with the development and implementation of the recommendations for enhance controls for businesses, processes and / or products.
  • Effectively identify and monitor Key Processes, Risks, and Controls leveraging global best practices.
  • Assist the PTR Manager to define scope of reviews
  • Support PTR Manager to ensure timely and high quality effective compliance with target due dates, scope and review completeness.
  • Propose conclusions, observations, recommendations and actionable remediation plans, and actively support the conversations with stakeholders.
  • Support the PTR Manager to cover the scope, and ensure results are timely and effectively delivered, as agreed.

  • Knowledge / Experience :

  • Bachelor’s degree with 1 to 3 years of experience in related functions
  • Financial services industry experience required
  • Compliance, risk and control knowledge desirable
  • Knowledge background on different risks (as described on the Risk Appetite Framework) and controls identification.
  • Industry and relevant business, operational, financial and control knowledge is required.
