Process Engineering Supervisor
Purpose of Position.
The role of the Lean Engineer is to act as change agent to promote cost savings and cultural changes by playing key leadership across the assigned plant.
The Lean Engineer is expected to drive improvements and provide support to implement Lean initiatives originated by the core teams or by the PEx / Lean organization.
In addition, the Senior Lean Engineer is expected to promote standardization of Lean Techniques across the plant by promoting / developing initiatives affecting multiple areas or sites.
Mention the major responsibilities and tasks of the position.
Lead crossfunctional teams developing projects across multiple Business Units and functions.
Create 3-5 years Lean road map and outline projects to support vision for assigned plant
Act as an expert in VSM tool utilization across multiple Business Units
Promote Lean Transformation in the plant by selecting and driving lean tools in order to support long term vision.
Provides timely feedback to his / her supervision on project status
Create project presentations to effectively communicate status and action plans in both English and Spanish
Assures Lean best practices and lessons learned are implemented in all applicable areas and functions across the plant
Act as advisor for Lean Six Sigma Tools when other Engineers in the plant are dealing with complex problems
Lead his / her core team through influence
Exercise Influence in peers and two levels above
Implement techniques to bring projects back into control
List the two most complex decisions indicative of this function and its impact to the function, department and / or corporation.
Create Lean Transformation road map for next 3-5 years using VSM technique
Determine the correct metrics and levels to evaluate progress of plans to achieve expected results

6. Minimum Knowledge and Skill Requirements.
A. Education.
Engineering BS Degree
B. Work Experience.
4-5 years as Lean Engineer.
C. Additional Skills.
Self-motivated individual with a history of delivering positive results through continuous improvement.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal). Ability to work in team environment.
Strong "Change Agent" with demonstrated leadership skills.
Strong Process focus with attention-to-detail abilities, problem solving skills.
Strong knowledge of manufacturing methods, systems, and production processes.
Strong knowledge on Lean Six Sigma Methodology
Strong ability to translate data coming from several sources into informative charts
Working knowledge of personal computers including word processing, spreadsheet
Strong abilities in DMAIC Tools
Able to defend his / her point of view based on technical data
Results oriented
Proactive individual able to work under minimal supervision
Ability to supervise others
Able to establish SMART goals for his / her self and the team.
Able to lead through influence his / her assigned team
