Primary responsibilities of the Sr Manufacturing Engineer (machining) are related to coordinate the development of processes and manufacturing systems for the realization of a product for our south plant, in our Manufacturing Complex in Silao, Guanajuato, México.

Your main accountabilities will be to :

  • Responsible for manufacturing engineering activities associated with assigned manufacturing area(s).
  • Analyze automotive driveshaft component and assembly product designs for best method of manufacture.
  • Propose and evaluate the processes for driveshaft component machining and assembly equipment.
  • Evaluate and estimate cost requests. Specify and provide estimates for manufacturing process for new programs or modify for existing programs.
  • Manage engineering changes as they occur.
  • Specify, quote, purchase, and runoff capital equipment, tooling, and systems required for driveshaft products manufacturing.
  • Review quotations and provide technical evaluation for machine and tooling procurement sourcing to support programs and activities assigned.

  • Develop and maintain quality & process documentation - Control plans, PFMEAS, Picture Process Sheets, Tooling Sheets, etc.
  • Investigate and implement cost reduction efforts through the suggestion & productivity improvement programs.
  • Understand & perform tolerance stackups. Have an understanding of GD&T along with datum dimensioning of components.
  • Develop and maintain program-tracking documentation.
  • Participate in the design of processes and manufacturing systems.
  • Quoting processes and manufacturing systems.
  • Follow up on the construction of equipment or manufacturing devices.
  • Coordination of equipment installation and certification.
  • Standardize and document processes.
  • Leading the development of the FMEA processes.
  • Leading the development of error-proof devices for processes.
  • Evaluate the performance and capacity of productive teams.
  • Provide support and troubleshooting of the process.
  • Make the necessary modifications in the processes.
  • Participate in the development of calibrators for the processes.
  • Participate in the development of the operating instructions of the process, process sheets, visual aids, error proofing.
  • Production Launch : Feedback to corporate through a report of lessons learned.
  • We are looking for :

    Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Electromechanical engineering, similar.

    Advanced level of english

  • 5 years of experience as manufacturing engineer (process). in machining , desirable automotive industry.
  • CNC Programming Experience.

    Knowledge in GD&T

    Advanced knowledge in coretools.
