TE Connectivity's Materials Planning Teams are responsible for the plans, schedules, and monitoring of the movement of material through the production cycle.
They determine quantity and order date for materials to meet production or engineering schedules, initiate purchase or production requisitions compliant with supply agreements, and develop the schedule to be used in the production facility based on forecasts and historical analysis.
The Team develops specifications for new contract orders as well as forecasts and plans for labor requirements. They provide timely and accurate input on supplier performance and may be asked to participate in higher level supplier performance reviews with the strategic sourcing team.
They also monitor cost, schedule and scope of assigned subcontracts to assure best quality at best value.
Responsibilities & Qualifications
Responsible for the day to day management of the production plan, ensuring the availability of manufacturing materials, with the proper use of the resources of the area.
Plan within MRP system the appropriate inventory levels to support desired Customer demand.
Communicate roadblocks and gating item information to appropriate management for resolution. Acting as the day-to-day point of contact for operations to assist in the resolution of order promising situations, customer delivery difficulties and demand versus supply conflicts.
Collaborate with business unit’s cross-functional teams (supply chain, production and manufacturing execution, engineering quality) to develop and improve strategies and processes that drive fill rate to meet Company Goals.
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent
At least 3 years’ experience as Production or Materials Planner
Extended knowledge of planning processes (MRP, MPS, S&OP)
Basic knowledge of Lean Production (Value Stream Mapping, Material Replenishment and Flow, PFEP, etc.)
General knowledge of Operations / Manufacturing processes
Strong Computer skills (SAP R / 3, SAP APO, MS Excel, Business Information tools)
Fluent in English, both written and spoken
