The GUI Software Engineering Technical Delivery Manager’s responsibilities includes but not limited to the following :
Lead GUI software engineering teams in an agile environment.
Responsible for the overall Software Development activities of GUI components within assigned programs.
Manages the planning, tracking and oversight meetings of the GUI team.
Ensures participation of GUI team members in design forums as needed.
Responsible for software development and delivery of platforms.
Drives improvement plans and actions working close to Design Champions and Product Line Architects towards building reusable software assets.
Supports the Design Champion and the delivery Technical Delivery Manager with technical and resource availability during new business quote response, as well as program’s critical situations.
Work with the Design Champion to provide the right technical solutions for program’s technical challenges.
Ensures the right skill resources are deployed based on project skill needs as projected by the delivery teams.
Responsible for developing and maintaining the GUI software development technologies roadmap, skill matrix evaluation and enhancement of those skills.
Support / Enables training needs of the whole GUI organization when required.
Performs timely identification, escalation and resolution of project risks and issues.
Design and execute career development plans for engineers in your team.
The qualified applicant for this role will possess the following attributes :
YEARS EXPERIENCE : 7-10 years of software development experience minimum and a background in real time embedded systems with significant software project leadership experience
DEGREE STRONGLY PREFERRED : Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electronics, Mechatronics or related field.
DESIRED COMPETENCIES / EXPERIENCE :
Experience in managing and leading embedded electronics SW development teams.
Proven track record building effective teams with experience in hiring, developing and retaining software engineers
Exposure and understanding of SW architecture and design concepts, modelling approaches
Clear understanding of System V and Agile SW processes and related software methodologies
Experience in adapting agile software development methodologies to large scale or more traditional, requirements based software development efforts.
Good understanding and experience with configuration and defect management principles.
Experience with automotive embedded electronics products (hardware & software) is preferred.
Experience in the development of embedded real time systems utilizing LINUX and Open Source Software in addition to operating systems such as QNX.
Good understanding of HMI and graphics rendering technologies is preferred; or desire and interest to quickly learn it.
Excellent oral and written communication skills (local language & English)
