Business Planning Manager / Business Intelligence And Analytics Manager

Own BI data strategy and related projects for aaS transformation, partnering closely with Sales, PLM, Support Delivery / Customer Success, Marketing and Engineering

  • Develop and align BI data / reporting strategy and roadmap with organizational objectives. Set priorities for the aaS metrics and ensure alignment across various stakeholder groups
  • Collaborate with the business to understand broader business goals and challenges associated with Aruba's aaS transformation.
  • Design and maintain data infrastructure and metric reporting to support key opportunities and challenges

  • Drive collaboration across Sales, PLM, Support Delivery / Customer Success, Marketing, and Engineering teams to build a single source of truth reporting for both management and Aruba-wide consumption
  • Establish and ensure governance, security, and consistency in sharing BI data to support stakeholders appropriately. Ensure best in class BI tool stack by proactively addressing gaps and identifying opportunities for improvement
  • Provide metric expertise and standardization lend guidance to the Leadership team to interpret and provide strategic insights into trends and gaps.
  • Summarize findings, publicize results, and engage with senior leadership to drive a more data-centric approach to decision making

    Defines, manages, and evaluates business plans to ensure they are operationally executable against defined strategic objectives.

    Leads and partners with cross-functional teams to develop short-term (typically less than two years) business plans and supporting data-driven models.

    Prepares comprehensive implementation tactics, including execution plans, resource allocation plans, follow-up guidelines, assessment, and process accountabilities.

    Ensures that business activities are aligned with stated plans among different stakeholders. Sets business metrics, evaluates actual performance, and makes recommendations to business leaders on performance target achievement.

    Develops data-driven analyses to optimize resources and ensure that business plans can be translated into financial value.

    In this role you will spend your time doing :

    Strategy (10% of time)

    Manages complex, time-sensitive sales / research projects and synthesizes data and information to identify relevant trends and next steps

    Manages complex data and business analyses to develop business plans and make recommendations

    Works closely with business leaders to develop business plans based on historical and forecasted data and reports

    Identifies cutting-edge analytical tools, models, and methods for making key business decisions

    Planning (10% of time)

    Works with cross-functional teams across WW and regions

    Drives correct target setting and quota distribution to the sales force

    Provide inputs of the right sales compensation plans to support organizational sales goals

    Devices bonus programs (Quarterly / Half Yearly / Yearly) to support business priorities

    Supports in shaping the skills and capabilities of sales workforce

    Operations (80% of time)

    Works independently to construct complex statistical and financial models to forecast business performance

    Defines the metrics required to measure aaS business performance such as customer count, customer retention, churn rate, Lifetime Customer Value, etc.

    compares actual data to forecasted values, and develops the process for identifying and addressing performance gaps

    Contributes to priority projects with complex analyses and assists in developing recommendations

    Develops tactical strategies (in Quarter) to ensure delivery of desired business results like Market share attainment, quarterly sales goal attainment and priority product / Services portfolio sales

    Utilize metrics and data to anticipate and educate others on customer needs, trade off discussions or decision making

    Responsibilities :

    Leads complex data and business analyses to develop business plans, and identifies recommendations and insights.

    Works independently to construct highly complex statistical and financial models to forecast business performance; coaches others on model development.

    Establishes the metrics required to measure business performance, and develops the process for identifying and addressing performance gaps.

    Manages complex, time- sensitive market research projects and prepares synthesized intelligence reports with clear implications.

    Leads cross-functional teams across the entire span of business planning activities.

    Contributes to priority projects by adding creative insights and developing recommendations.

    Partners with business leaders to develop business plans and proactively identify new opportunities.

    Develops go-forward business plan recommendations based on potential risks and returns.

    Identifies cutting-edge analytical tools, models, and methods for making key business decisions.

    Other general responsibilities :

    Maintain full ownership of assigned work-streams and maintain high-degree of autonomy and drive

    Work effectively with critical stakeholders, ready to engage with other key stakeholders of the company in a humble and

    productive way

    Demonstrate high level of maturity and sensitivity in handling company confidential information

    Support more junior staff on how to navigate Aruba and provide coaching on technical skills

    Education and Experience Required :

    Typically 6-10 years work experience in strategy, planning, operations, finance, or related functional area. Advanced university degree (e.

    g., MBA) or demonstrable equivalent.

    Knowledge and Skills :

  • Experience with integration of data and data structuring from multiple data sources; working with high-volume & high-dimensional data from varying sources;
  • complex data analysis, design, support, and documentation

    Extensive knowledge of analytical tools such as R, Advanced SQL, Advanced MS Excel, Tableau, Power BI, etc.

    Knowledge of Python will be an added advantage

    Prior experience of using business communication tools such as MS PowerPoint, MS Word, ThinkCell

    Analytical problem-solving ability to breakdown key issues and structure work streams

    Ability to communicate complex business insights succinctly, leveraging various communication tools available

    Knowledge of Sales and Marketing Analytics will be an added advantage

    Ability to independently drive their work; to manage multiple work streams simultaneously supporting the execution of their

    deliverables

    Strong competence in developing and managing relationships, including partnering and consulting

    Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as the ability to bridge the gap between data science

    and business management

    Extensive knowledge of research methodology for key business issues.

    Excellent analytical thinking, technical analysis, and data manipulation skills.

    Ability to leverage new analytical techniques to develop creative approaches to business analysis.

    Extensive knowledge and understanding of how to analyze business problems using Excel, Access, statistical analysis, and financial modeling

    Very strong project management skills, including leading large, cross-functional initiatives.

    Developed leadership skills, including team-building, conflict resolution, and management.

    Ability to identify emerging trends from the market and industry data.
