The Manufacturing Cost Accountant is responsible for reporting, control, and analysis of operations in the areas of inventory, costing, purchasing, and maintaining applicable ERP cost system modules.
Positional goals include maintaining physical inventory accuracy and creating awareness of product cost and profit margins prepare the related journal entries, reconciliations and reports.
All duties will be performed under supervision of the Assistant Controller. The ideal candidate manages complexity, optimizes work processes, communicates effectively, demonstrates self-awareness, and ensures accountability.

Leads financial operations in inventory management by developing and improving control policies, procedures, methods, and systems.
Prepares month-end close Cost Accounting entries and relevant monthly reporting.
Facilitates monthly E&O and WIP meetings with Finance, Operations, and Sales teams.
Reconciles inventory and assetl accounts monthly.
Monitors manufacturing variances monthly and reviews material and labor transactions to ensure costing accuracy.
Reviews daily cycle count results performs root cause analysis of discrepancies and leads implementation of corrective actions.
Performs setup and maintenance of inventory stratification codes, labor rates, overhead rates, and annual standard cost roll-up.
Leads annual physical inventory count.
Develops an understanding of the product lines by working with Purchasing, Operations, and Sales teams.
Performs any other assigned duty as directed by management.
Material and product costing
Bills of materials and breakdowns for analysis and certificates of origin
New materials or products cost calculation outside of system
Review cost Accounts and variance analysis
Monthly production review and work order reports
Scrap reporting and review
Tranfer Price update in all systems
Purchase Price analysis
Calculate and analyze E&O levels
Transfer Orders reconciliation between MDC - SLP Plant
In-transit Inventory review and accrue
Freights accrual ensuring that transactions are in accordance with the NIF and / or GAAP, besides following internal policies and procedures.
Review and monitor multiprocess accounts
Review reworks and monitor credits are received from our vendors.
Prepare and review documentation for Internal and external audits
Assist in budgeting and forecasting to all functional departments.
Complete Financial Analysis for management decisions.
Commit to accomplish the environmental policy established in the Enviromental Management System (EMS)
Ensure to follow the procedures, tasks and rules established in the EMS.
Commit to accomplish the environmental objectives and provides ideas to improve the EMS.
In case of emergency, has the authority to alert the personnel and stop any procedure or equipment that could compromise their physical integrity.
Know and comply with the requirements of the management systems of the plant, namely : Quality Management System (IATF16949), Environmental Management System (ISO14001), and EMLS.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required
Accounting / Finance Degree (4 year minimum)
5-7 years applicable work experience
Strong computer skills
Knowledge of Inventory valuation, rules, management and control, preferred, but not required.
Understanding of Mexican GAAP rules. Understanding of US GAAP preferred, but not required
Exposure to accounting systems (SAP, NetSuite, etc.), and Office (Excel, Word, Power Point).
Knowledge of ISO Quality and Environmental programs preferred.
Normal office environment with no undue exposure to noise, odors, dust, drafts, etc.
Possible repetitive keyboard work
Sustained visual concentration on monitors, screens or worksheets
Intermediate English level preferred but not required.
