  • The Vanadis Diagnostics Team, part of PerkinElmer, is looking for a Software Deployment and Diagnostic Engineer to work Remote, with experience in application and interface development.
  • The team has developed a complete system for investigating chromosome abnormalities during pregnancies based on a blood sample.

    The system is based on advanced DNA technology and is developed by a group of scientists and engineers with competences in biochemistry, optics, image processing, statistics and software development.

    This person must be able to address a wide range of development tasks across a diverse number of areas including desktop applications, real time operating systems, and hardware systems control software.

    He / She must be able to implement policies, procedures and practices and make decisions for sound judgment, adequacy, quality, relevance, and accuracy.

    In addition, this person must also lead and participate in design activities, testing and problem resolution; as well as preparing detailed technical documentation.

    This person must also be a self-motivated problem solver, who thrives in a scientific environment and works effectively in a small team.

    Specific Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Has comprehensive knowledge of Prenatal Screening laboratory workflow and Maternal Fetal Health business
  • Responsible for full lifecycle software application development
  • Install, configure, validate, and support software applications responsible by Vanadis Diagnostics to meet the approved requirements and scope documentation and according to the Quality Management System
  • Analyzes test information to determine process efficiency and works on improvements
  • Acts as a main contact point for customers, R&D, sales and many other stakeholders for software applications
  • Assist in development of engineering estimates for projects
  • Collaboration with internal stakeholders such as System Testing, Business, and Application Engineers
  • Gather business needs and formulate plans to gather data needed for key stakeholder decisions
  • Identify customer needs and trends
  • Create appropriate documentation for all work performed. This includes, but is not limited to : Change Request Forms, Software Specification Documents and Verification Plans & Reports
  • Case Handling documentation in ticketing system
  • Complaint investigation reports and supporting documentation
  • Independently troubleshoots, resolves, validates, and documents technical issue
  • Ability to independently conduct training sessions with team members and customers
  • Experience delivering what’s promised on time, proactively provide status reports, and have the up-side to independently manage tasks and projects from inception through completion with minimal supervisory guidance
  • Good interdepartmental communication skills and documentation skills are required
  • Demonstrated ability to accomplish goals while working across departments is required
  • Basic Qualifications :

  • Computer Science or equivalent required degree with 8+ years’ experience
  • 8+ years in Software Integration projects
  • High level computer skills are required
  • Experience with Visual Studio required
  • Experience in Software Methodology, Agile, Scrum
  • Preferred Qualifications :

  • Implement remote monitoring software on installed systems at internal & client sites
  • Build a BI dashboard using SpotFire to track system performance
  • Build performance limits into the BI tool to trigger notifications when performance deviates beyond limits
  • Standardize and streamline Vanadis software installations beyond those installed by application engineers. (Lampi & LifeCycle today)
  • Build clinical data interfacing capabilities into LifeCycle and in-turn implement Lampi to gather clinical data in addition to system data
  • Recommend improvements to Vanadis systems, software and processes based on observations & interactions with clients
  • Experience with product development processes and project management is a plus
  • Hands-on experience in laboratory informatics
  • Strong Experience with SQL Server
