JOB PURPOSE :
The Lantech Operator is responsible to perform all tasks involved in packaging product through the safe operation of Finishing and Banding equipment according to required specifications.
To perform basic, routine equipment maintenance and cleaning on all machinery and workspaces in the area of responsibility.
To identify unacceptable product conditions and initiate the proper corrective action. To assist maintenance personnel in the troubleshooting, repair, or preventive maintenance of equipment.
This position may be required to work evenings, weekends and / or holidays.
Communicate with team members, Supervisors and leadership regarding daily production
Operate a fork truck to transfer and / or load and unload material from the line throughout the warehouse and plant
Safely and accurately band finished pallets of material according to customer specifications
Ability to safely operate an automatic banding machine
Troubleshoot machines and work closely with other production and maintenance personnel to resolve machine issues
Keep machines stocked with raw materials and work with other personnel including vendors regarding raw material quality
Ability to operate customer label printer and accurately apply appropriate labels and cover sheets to finished goods
Ability to inspect, monitor and maintain a high level of accuracy and quality of finished material
Remove excess material from production lines
Identify root cause of issues during production and document issue(s)
Follow up on issues assigned to this position until completion
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
Ability to handle multiple priorities, stress, provide detailed work, sound reasoning, and meet required deadlines
The ability to be flexible in duties, analytical and possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills
The ability to be exceptionally self-motivated and directed, organized, and a keen attention to detail
The ability to work consistently on a concrete plant production floor and in multiple (hot, cold, dirty, etc.) environmental conditions
Good vision with or without corrective lenses
The ability to be available for on-call and periodic overtime
The ability to frequently bend, lift (minimum 50 lbs unassisted), sit or stand for extended periods of time, kneel and move for extended periods of time
The ability to have dexterity of hands and fingers to utilize appropriate equipment and tools
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS :
Minimum 1 year experience in an industrial manufacturing environment preferred
Previous experience operating a Fork Truck preferred.
