Oracle Applications Labs (OAL) is a global organization within Oracle. OAL runs the applications that run Oracle. Within OAL the Project Management Office team manages strategic and cross functional initiatives and develops standard best practices that can be implemented across OAL.

The IT Project Manager, will report to the Director, Project Management Office, Oracle Applications Labs, and be responsible for driving multiple projects to successful completion.

Responsibilities :

Program and Project Execution :

  • Drive cross-functional execution of multiple projects, across all phases of the project lifecycle
  • Coordinate activities across functions and groups in compliance to the project lifecycle
  • Consistently guide project teams to the desired outcome even when faced with setbacks
  • Apply industry-leading project management practices and take a hands-on approach to keep projects on schedule
  • Ensure projects execute to schedule, scope, and budget constraints
  • Planning, Tracking, and Reporting :

  • Create, optimize, and drive project plans using the OAL Project Life Cycle methodology
  • Effectively adapt and modify plans based on changing conditions
  • Track project progress and send status reports regularly
  • Risk Management and Problem Solving :

  • Identify risks and issues that need mitigation or action, lead the decision-making process, and communicate outcomes clearly and in actionable form
  • Work with the development owner to assess risk mitigation and issue resolution trade-offs between short and long term and balance the needs across all stakeholders
  • Ensure efficiency, quality, and shared vision by getting the right people involved in decisions
  • Create a collaborative environment where people are encouraged to share information, constructively debate, and communicate freely
  • Assess projects team and their plans and makes tough calls when required
  • Learn from project retrospectives and apply the learned lessons on future projects
  • Communication and Coordination :

  • Collaborate with key business partners in the lines of business, business operations, product development, IT operation, and delivery teams to ensure success of the projects
  • Align project teams with business objectives and understand the inter-dependencies across cross-functional teams
  • Frame communication and discussions for the intended audience, with appropriate context and line of sight
  • Create and deliver effective and persuasive presentations appropriate for Director and Vice President-level audiences
  • Required Experience / Skills :

  • 3-5 years of overall technology (product or IT) implementation experience with a minimum of 1 year in a project management or development leadership capacity
  • Experience with sales automation, order management, ERP or SCM processes is a plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
  • Proven ability to thrive in fast changing, dynamic environment while coordinating multiple initiatives simultaneously
  • Proven success having consistently delivered complex, global, cross-functional, technology projects for large technology companies
  • Firm grasp and experience in Waterfall and Agile / Scrum methodologies
  • Effective presenter, negotiator, and collaborator
  • Tolerant of a range of project types, from vague to well-defined, simple to complex, implementation to innovation
  • Experience with working in a global project team and working independently with limited day-to-day management supervision
  • Ability to influence and lead team members and others regardless of organizational structure or hierarchy
  • Strong quantitative, analytical, and problem solving skills
  • Have a learning mindset with willingness to try new approaches, innovate, and improve
  • Project management experience with Cloud projects preferred
  • Tools :

  • Microsoft Office (MS Project, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word)
  • Atlassian JIRA and Confluence or similar Agile project management tools
  • Education, certification, & training experience :

  • BS / BA degree required; MS / MIS or MBA is a plus.
  • PMI PMP, CSM or similar certification / training is a plus.
  • Detailed Description and Job Requirements

    Coordinates all aspects of internal information system-specific projects from initiation to delivery. Projects often involve network, server, or software implementation and upgrades, PC deployment and the like.

    Coordinates work performed by IT staff and internal customers / partners by defining project specifications, performing feasibility and needs / impact assessments.

    Develops detailed project plans and manages all implementation processes including resource allocation, progress tracking, monitoring change control process, testing, documentation, training and on-

    time delivery within budget constraints.

    Duties and tasks are varied and complex utilizing independent judgment. Fully competent in own area of expertise. May have project lead role and or supervise lower level personnel.

    BS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. Typically 5 years of project management, product design or related experience needed.
