The OR Expert Engineer interacts with R&D, Production, Application Engineering and other multidisciplinary functions within the ABB ELDS organization in addition to internal and external customers in order to ensure that all customer and project requirements are correctly addressed in the order processing.
The OR Engineering Expert provide direction and assistance to Project Managers, Sales, Product Management, engineering and Factory functions to guarantee the preparedness of all organizations in terms of processes, actions, supplies, resources and materials required for every specific order completion in the factory.
In this role you will also work within defined parameters, practices and quality standards applicable to the Switchboard product line.
Analyze customer technical project information and requirements in order to ensure all requirements are correctly addressed in the requested order scope.
Provide feedback or technical information to any function in ELDS organization in order to clarify, correct, adjust and / or initiate the appropriate processes for a successful order execution.
Provide to application engineering a technical documentation package and answers questions that clarifies any order configuration selection for the assigned orders.
Responsible to ensure order configuration compliance of product engineering policies, standards and procedures during the OR phase of the process.
Leads any technical discussion with Sales, Project Management, Product Leaders in the proposal phase of the order to ensure that the order is compliant to technical, regulatory, functional and operational requirements of the product.
Drives clean order improvement actions that help application engineering to streamline order processing on further order stages.
Provides input of technical training requirements for engineering in order to increase engineering processing reliability.
Provide engineering support, within his / her specialty, to teams working on performance, cost reduction and quality initiatives, making recommendations after the analysis of the data using quality tools.
Promote open communications and maintain an effective working relationship with the customer, field sales, project management and shop operation associates.
Assist with customer meetings as needed.
Establish technology mechanisms to protect the Intellectual Property rights of the Company.
Leverage expertise to solve problems in the field or during manufacturing processes assisting the engineering team supporting the factory in resolution of issues or questions related to engineering change notices and electrical / mechanical applications.
Will also support the engineer in the resolution of post-sale complaints.
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical-Electrical Engineering, Electrical or any degree related to control boards or electrical distribution products.
More than 10 years of experience.
