Responsibilities

  • Contribute to DMO - case studies, best practices from real engagements
  • Ensures location health in capacity and capability to maintain company needs and foster a culture of technical and delivery excellence at multiple levels
  • Delivery head is responsible for setting the technical path and making it become a reality
  • Assists in delivery, staffing, and participates in overall GDO
  • Practices alignment in each location

  • Acts as a practice delivery supervisor for in-scope practice projects
  • Takes part in pre-sales - review and consulting on the response on RFP - scope, solution (technology, accelerators, 3rd party, integration), estimates (efforts, timeline), resource plan
  • Helps with finding the right people for pre-sale conducting from Practice (SA, SME, BA, DM, QA). The goal of such activity - our proposal is reasonable from all perspectives - sounds technically consistent and reliable, budget is reasonable, estimates are reasonable (efforts, timeline), resource plan is feasible - and proposed solution can be delivered by EPAM and will be profitable for EPAM ->

  • Helps with staffing (focus Key staff only) - with staffing new projects by Key staff and with re-staffing (succession planning) for Key staff on existing projects.
  • Tight collaboration with Geo Location(s) RMs is a must. The goal of such activity - staff projects with the right people and can start new projects (thus succession planning on Key staff is required)

  • Supervise new projects kick-off - supervises transition from pre-sale to the development team (solution including all the technology-related aspects, estimates, resource planning, assumptions, constraints, risks), helps with the design of right solution using technology (accelerators, integration with 3rd party components) if not yet defined on pre-sales stage, helps with staffing of crucial staff (DM, SA, QA / BA / Dev Leads), helps with master project plan development and thus with the establishment of SDLC (processes, project delivery environment / infrastructure, tools (as for project management as well as for proper engineering - CI / CD, dev tools, etc.)
  • Performs continuous Delivery Assurance the goal of activities - green status on projects under supervision
  • Review projects' delivery statuses of projects under their supervision regularly (weekly using DHM). It can be offline reviews or online with DMs of similar projects taking part (preferably). I.e., we have PDSv
  • DMs communication channel

  • Has succession planning in place for Key staff in their location
  • Works with Geo Location(s) RMs to hire staff (focus on Key personnel) to develop practice in location(s). I.e., we have PDSv
  • RMs communication channel

  • Performs regular project assessment (depends on different project types, timeline, maturity, etc. but the general recommendation to do in-depth project assessment quarterly)
  • Proactively react on changes in project's status, helps with Amber status overcoming, a project in Red status close supervision / handling (up to hands-on involvement though better not, really)
  • Education / Knowledge Management
  • Collaborate with CDP (can be via Geolocation RMS) on the development of necessary training for personnel. Not just technical related but business domain-related as well.
  • Goal - to have a kind of "onboarding plan" for newcomers to Solution Practice and to help people get up-to-speed in a short period

  • Collaborate with corresponding CCs (if exist) on development of accelerators, suggests demand for SA and thus impacts on the growth of SA as in # as well as in knowledge
  • Contribute to DMO - case studies, best practices from real engagements
  • Requirements

  • Expected experience in the following roles Delivery Lead, Delivery Manager, Project Manager, Solution Architect, Account Manager, Project Supervisor, Consultant
  • Minimum 4 years' experience in managing projects in Agile, Iterative, and Waterfall Methodologies, of which minimum two years should be demonstrated experience of Agile delivery approaches and Agile techniques
  • Ability to strategize and define enterprise-level solutions, as well as to deep dive into technical implementation details across both Cloud & Development
  • A deep and up-to-date understanding of DevOps best practices
  • Hands on experience in technology and software engineering practices with the ability to supervise and suggest competitive technical decisions and assure a winning mix of delivery practices applied on the project
  • High-level knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle. We should be able to participate in technical discussions as needed intelligently
  • Has managed the development of solutions for complex business needs
  • Excellent communication skills oral, written, and presentation
  • Onsite experience of working directly with the customer is highly desirable
