The main responsibilities for this position are :

  • To manage overall of Owner's responsibilities and EPC contractor supervision during construction in order to ensure compliance with contract requirements;
  • To act as the general administrator of all the Owner's on-site activities, including the management of Owner's site facilities, staff and resources including the Owner's Engineer staff;
  • To co-ordinate of the review and comment of detailed EPC contractor engineering drawings, specifications and document submittals;
  • To detail analysis of the EPC contractors construction schedule and monthly report;
  • To understand and to supervise contracts and budgetary management, cost control, change order approvals;
  • To verify EPC contractor milestone payment requests;
  • To lead the hiring of Owner's field staff, as required, to ensure adequate resources are in place for effective and timely execution of projects;
  • To develop relationships with contractors and suppliers;
  • To develop effective and supportive relationships with colleagues;
  • To provide supervision and guidance to Owner's staff;
  • To evaluate and to develop project solutions and options;
  • To development and administration of project schedules;
  • To participate in the selection of prospective contractors, to include contract preparation, negotiation and award
  • To manage project cost control and reporting
  • To manage daily interface with Plant Manager to coordinate contractor and subcontractor activities that could affect plant operations
  • To ensure all Owner's insurance policies determined to be required for the project are in effect and that any policy requirements such as surveyor inspections are followed by contractors and subcontractors performed;
  • To ensure all contractor and subcontractor insurance policies required under the related contracts are in effect;
  • To liaise with local utility, government and regulatory bodies as required
  • To liaise and to co-ordinate with lender's engineer, as required
  • To manage the overall responsibility over work site safety to ensure an accident free project. Ensure safe working practices and HSE are adopted and adhered to throughout the project
  • To ensure Contractor and subcontractor compliance with QA / QC obligations under the associated contracts
  • To manage completion and testing of the facility in accordance with the Power Purchase Agreement and associated contract
  • To turn over the completed project to the Owner's Assets Manager
