Job Summary :
This position will drive the oversight of the Accounting Shared Services team, responsible for General Ledger, WW Fixed Assets, and local regional payroll and various accounting transactions on behalf of other regions in accordance with US GAAP.
In addition, this role is accountable for the monthly close and statutory filings for the Mexico and Latin America legal entities.
This position reports directly to the Corporate Sr. Accounting Manager in the US.
Primary Responsibilities :
Management of three direct Supervisors and their teams overseeing WW Fixed Assets, General Ledger, Intercompany and Payroll activities.
Establishes strategic goals for team and provides coaching and development opportunities.
Ensures transactions are recorded in accordance with US GAAP. Escalates to Corporate if there are complex transactions that require more US GAAP expertise.
Ensures proper currency and legal entity for transactions will be working with several different currencies in several different legal entities.
Drives global process alignment with peers in Asia and Europe.
Encourages continues improvement of processes and challenges the status quo.
Ensures the close process is managed in accordance with the corporate timeline.
Works closely with internal and external customers to resolve issues and answer inquiries.
Analyses month and quarter-end balances (balance sheet) and provides explanations for significant deltas.
Develops operational metrics for the transaction teams and publishes a scorecard every month.
Reports on progress and issues regularly. Proactively keeps Corporate informed.
Required Experience / Education :
BS or BA in Accounting.
Must have a minimum of 10 years of progressive accounting and people management experience
Must have US GAAP experience; CPA preferred
Experience working with multiple currencies and / or legal entities
Computer Skills :
Proficient with Microsoft Office products including, but not limited to, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
Oracle and Hyperion experience a plus
