What General Accounting contributes to Cardinal Health
General Accounting is responsible for maintaining the financial books and records and preparing financial statements in accordance with accounting standards.
Manages a professional staff of financial analysts.
Ensures and controls company assets and other financial obligations and recommends plans and programs that seek to make the most of these assets.
Interprets reports and analysis on business trends, and reports what was found to the Controller.
Prepares reports that summarize and forecast business and financial activity in revenue and earnings areas based on past, present, and future and standby operations.
Recommends, designs, or develops general accounting reviews and accounts payable systems.
Directs the preparation of budgets.
Acts as a liaison between the company, government auditors and the CPA to provide necessary information and ensure that it is maintained for historical purposes.
Directs the determination of the amortization rates applicable to capital goods.
Administratively advises on desirable operational adjustments due to tax code revisions.
Organizes company accounts for audits.
Prepares reports required by regulatory agencies.
Preparation of forecasts and annual budgets.
Responsible for communicating business related issues to the next administrative level.
Responsible for ensuring personal and company compliance with all Federal, State and Local regulations as well as with the policies and procedures of Environment, Health and Safety.
Responsible for ensuring that direct reports comply with all regulations of the company related to Environment, Health and Safety and that all resources necessary to do so are available and in good condition.
Bachelors degree in related field, or equivalent work experience
5-7 years experience in related field
Prior supervisory experience
Bilingual (English / Spanish) preferred
Masters in Accounting or CPA preferred
