Job SummaryCoordinates the manufacturing phases of new product development projects. Acts as a liaison between product engineering and production.
Reviews / scrubs Bills of Materials before new products are introduced into manufacturing.
Reviews component part, assembly drawings, ECO’s, & ECN’s to ensure manufacturability.
Constructs samples / prototypes to insure integrity of product.
Responsible for overall product documentation and work instruction for release into manufacturing.
Responsible for implementation of derivative projects to existing products.
Coordinates NPI teams to support all activities.
Coordinates all stages of prototype builds.
Responsible to coordinate processes to provide new equipment, molds, fixtures, testers, etc. that manufacturing may need to build a new product.
Communicate project requirements with other departments.
Coordinate New Product Development information for projects.
Track progress and cost on active projects.
Provide cost estimates for proposed new products or changes to existing products.
Travel to other facilities including international travel.
Performs other duties as assigned by management.
Provides feedback and lessons learned for continuous NPI improvement
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Electrical or Industrial Engineering.
A minimum of five (5) years of high-level experience in manufacturing or engineering. Experience in Industrial, Automotive, Health care,
Telecommunications, Fabrication, or Electrical Power Generation a plus.
Communicates and works closely to build effective relationships with new product team members and production management.
Provide presentations to Plant Manager and one level higher. Cross into other functional areas to obtain required information and support to complete assignments.
Ability to work in a large, global corporate structure
Self-starter. Ability to solve problems, take responsibility and deliver results with a spirit of innovation and strong commitment to excellence.
Desirable experience using MRP or Enterprise systems in Engineering or Manufacturing, preferably with JDE software.
Ability to coordinate multiple projects effectively and efficiently.
Ability to coordinate multiple people with multiple abilities to forecast completion dates and willingness to meet tight deadlines.
Must have Lean Manufacturing implementation experience.
Excellent organization and time management skills are a must.
Proficient product costing skills required.
Excellent oral and written communication skills are required.
Fluency in English and Spanish required (read, write and speak).
Proficiency in use of MS Office Software advanced Power Point skills required.
Experience in drafting tools such as PRO-E, Auto-Cad or others.
