Incumbent mustprovide technical and analytical expertise within an assigned businessunit / area, usually as a member of a project team, in the analysis, design,development and implementation of business applications.
In this capacity, they will be expected tomaintain awareness of current and planned projects in which they are involvedwith in order to promote application sharing.
Under the leadership and supervision of a project leader, the SA I / II isexpected to collaborate with staff members, IT colleagues, and otherstakeholders to define detailed customer requirements and system interfaces,assess available technologies, and develop and present viable solutionoptions.
Within an SBU, the SA I / IIshould focus on developing knowledge of specific business processes used bysystems applications.
This role alsoprovides direct support to users as needed to analyze and solve systems issues.
The position requires a strong technical background havingdirect experience with internet technologies such as Microsoft .
Database skills in Microsoft SQL Server withthe ability to work in database design, stored procedures, and functions aretypical in this role.
Proficiency withMicrosoft SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) and Reporting Services (SSRS)are also needed for this position.
Oracle Database experience with PL / SQL is also desired.
The SA I / II musthave the ability to translate business requirements into software,communications, and equipment requirements for application development.
These responsibilities require that theincumbent should be able to perform feasibility studies, translate requirementsinto an appropriate design, formulate and define application scope and objectives,and under the guidance of a project lead, implement complete solutions.
The SAI I / II must be able to help identifybarriers to meeting goals and provide solutions to keeping assigned tasks ontrack and on budget.
Incumbents mustassure business application systems are developed in a way that complies witharchitectural standards and established methodologies and practices.
They are also expected to understand theprocedures and expected system performance associated with the technologies theyare utilizing.
The SA I / II shouldcontribute technical knowledge and may be expected to give direction to bothPPG employees and contract programmers on specific projects or projectphases.
Under the guidance of a projectlead, the SA I / II may participate in prioritizing resources and tasks onspecific projects and should be able to monitor and report to management on thestatus of their specific project tasks.
The incumbent may also be held accountable for managing associated plansand costs.
Individuals in this job position have technical expertise at an in-depthlevel and are in the process of acquiring a broader knowledge of varioustechnical areas and project management skills.
The SA I / II is expectedto prepare detailed specifications from which applications will bewritten. They are also expected to ableto create, modify, and test programming code themselves, provide technicalconsulting support on projects or system issues and prepare operations and userdocumentation.
Theymust be able to implement appropriatedata security solutions when necessary. From an application maintenance perspective, incumbents must respondappropriately to system maintenance requests and use their analytical abilitiesand technical skills to isolate problems, fix immediate needs, analyze allramifications and implement solutions.
