I. Job Summary :
The general function of this position is to develop, implement and improve all equipment including but not limited to process and test equipment that ensures the manufacturability of the products and verify that it meets the specifications before being shipped to the customer.
II. Primarily Job Responsibilities
1.1.Develop the concept and specifications of the manufacturing and test equipment that could be :
1.1.1. Electrical test equipment.
1.1.2. Functional test equipment.
1.1.3. Any other equipment to automatize an assembly process.
1.2.Must apply lean techniques such as Poka Yoke to ensure the right quality of the product.
1.3.All equipment should be interconnected through the bar code / 2D code system, not allowing an error to continue the test process once it is detected at any of the testers.
1.4.During development the standardization in both, software and hardware, including peripherals / accessories should be maintained on the all work and tests stations.
1.5.The preventive maintenance to the equipment will be developed according to the supplier recommendations and experience with similar equipment already in production.
1.6.The following documents should be used to develop the equipment test parameters :
1.6.1. Customer specifications.
1.6.2. Customer drawings
1.6.3. Nidec engineering drawings.
2.1.To conclude with the implementation process, the controls engineer will call to a meeting to the following entities : Process Engineer, Production Supervisor, Maintenance Engineer, and Quality Engineer to complete the Equipment Release Check List with specific requirements for each department.
2.2.If any item is not finished by the time the equipment is released, a follow up date will be defined and the electrical test engineer will take care to accomplish the requirement.
2.3.During the release process, the controls engineer will keep a backup of the software used by each test computer.
2.4.A copy of the mechanical drawings, electrical and pneumatic diagrams will be kept by the electrical test engineer.
3.1.When maintenance department is not able to repair an equipment in a reasonable time, the controls engineer will be called for support on the failure analysis and solution to the problem.
3.2.When an internal quality issue or customer quality failure arise, the controls engineer will be part of the root cause analysis team to work on the analysis and provide solution when the cause is the equipment or when the detection needs to be granted.
3.3.The controls engineer will implement any improvement suggested to the equipment once it is evaluated and it is validated that will avoid problem recurrence or to prevent future problems.
3.4.The controls will provide support to the process engineer to develop the electrical control for an automatic or semi-
automatic equipment used on the assembly process for any of the different products.
4.1.When it is not possible to integrate a test equipment internally, the electrical test engineer will request to purchasing department to quote with external suppliers the integration of the test equipment.
4.2.Once the quoting process is finished, will be responsible to issue a PRAT and get the approval from management to generate the purchase order.
4.3.Even when a test equipment is integrated by external subcontractor, he electrical test engineer will be responsible for the equipment development and release process.
5.1.Assure compliance of activities defined in the procedures and work instructions.
5.2.Make periodical revisions of the procedures and work instructions before due or earlier as required.
5.3.Propose improvements to the process and procedures owned in the quality system.
6.1.Assure records established to provide evidence of conformity to requirements are controlled and available.
7.1.Assure that customer requirements are determined and are met with the aim of enhancing customer satisfaction.
7.2.Assure that customer requirements are met according with their area of influence.
8.1.Support performing LPA's Audits
9.1.If applicable to follow the VME or safety devices and report to the personnel indicated as applicable in order to correct it promptly.
9.2.To report to the medical department any incident or accident.
9.3.To follow the ergonomics recommendations while using computer equipment.
10.To comply with the environmental policy at all the time.
10.1.According to the environmental program department, follow up and respect the environmental general guidelines
