What will you do as a user experience manager on Oracles Redwood Design System Team? Lead a team of interaction designers as they create, specify, and nurture components in an evolving, state-of-the-art design system.
As a people-oriented leader, you will facilitate, inspire, and lead, depending on the project. Lead the design of one or more sets of related components.
As an active practitioner, you will design, specify, and maintain components to keep your craft and skills honed, including staying informed on evolving technologies and interaction models.
Provide design feedback that is both practical and actionable, and solve problems collaboratively with the greater Redwood Design Systems team, to advance and achieve the goals for the system.
Provide guidance on design process and best practices, and coaching and career development support, to grow a high performing team of individuals who are motivated, challenged, and fulfilled in their work.
Partner with product, program, and design managers to manage and prioritize multiple projects of varying timelines, degrees of complexity and scope.
Partner with component design leads, design and research managers, and researchers and data scientists to identify, prioritize, and plan activities to gain insight to drive and improve designs.
Manage the hiring process for sourcing, acquiring, and onboarding new employees. Understand user needs, problems, and goals across diverse use cases, and articulate guiding principles to ground and inspire your ideation and prototyping as you explore various design solutions.
Design components with ingenious microinteractions, that integrate with Oracles growing Redwood Design System, prioritize accessibility, and respond across desktop and mobile experiences.
Create interaction specifications using language, diagrams, and prototypes to describe component usage, anatomy, behavior, and configuration with clarity and detail.
Develop usage guidelines and training materials to help others learn and use the design system. Partner closely with engineering teams from design to hand off, and ensure components are implemented to specification.
