Primary Responsibilities :
Ensure effective engagement of the Quality Organization onto forward model programs, by managing the Quality and Safety Verification activities.
Lead periodic audits of the Hardware Development teams to ensure compliance
Ability to instruct, coach and inspire others through team meetings and formal training sessions in groups of up to 25, as well as one-to-one coaching
Guarantee dissemination of knowledge across the organization through the Lessons Learned Process
Facilitation of DFMEA sessions to ensure lessons learned and best practices are driven into the DFMEA
Evaluate DV, PV tests and the effectiveness of the test process to identify issues. Ensure effective test handling for Product Verification tests and results.
Engage in quotations to ensure quality commitment are aligned with the customer and development strategy
Ensure early in the development lifecycle that lesson learned previous projects are taken into account (PPHL)
Review and approve the technical solutions at quote stage, to ensure the hardware architecture is capable to achieve the product requirements.
Design Validation (DV), providing confirmation that the design is capable to meet the product requirements.
Manage closure of Non-Compliances from Customer Audits / Forward Model Quality Reviews (ensure cascade within and across the Customer Groups.)
Facilitate Problem Solving teams (drive teams to closure of D7 - Prevent Recurrence actions) and provide support for Practical Problem solving.
Requirements Competencies and Experience :
Degree in Electronics / Electrical Engineering and at least 3 years experience of electronics design in automotive applications.
Knowledge in the following areas;
Electronic Circuit design (Schematic, PCB Layout, SITA etc.) for automotive environment
Circuit skills including analog and digital design, microcontroller, design for EMC compliance
Knowledge of electronic component variation and failure modes
Knowledge of automotive quality systems and tools; APQP, PPAP, FMEA, Control Plans, 8D, 5 Why, etc.
Organizational and planning skills, communication and reporting, presentation and facilitation
Understanding of process capability and statistics (Cp, Cpk)
Excellent communication skills and international communication practices
